I came along 10 years after you, but when I was a kid I think the pizza was still good (late 80's early 90's). I haven't been in about 10 years, and it sounds like things have really gone downhill.

I am a big pizza guy as well, my wife actually makes me a pizza everyday for lunch, so I don't eat pizza out that often anymore, but I avoid the chains now too.

Funny, I grew around great pizza joints. Even worked in one for a little bit(resturaunt).
After boot camp, I ended up in Texas, just across the bay from Corpus Christi.
No. Good. Pizza... Then, there was someone from the Northeast corridor, that opened a shop, Pizza Inn, I think...
Excellent. Didnt make it. Everyone used Papa Johns, Dominos, or PizzaHut as the standards....
To this day, its 99% chain pizzas down there.

But, to change the subject a little... has anyone wandered into any of our recently acquired Wing Stops? I miss that place. Was Always good.
Next, we will get Whataburger up here, but, we will someone ruin it....

Well it wasnt til a few years back we got Chik-Fil-A. Five Guys took a bit to get up here as well. My buddy's uncle owns a pizza shop in Agawam, Peppo's, and his cousin runs it. I have a friend I grew up playing lacrosse with and his dad use to own a really well known pizza place in town, but he sold it back in like 2008ish. Now my buddy opened up his own place in town, Alessio's. I can't do chain pizza, plenty of other family owned shops I'd go to before a full on chain.

One of the things I hated the most about living down south when I was stationed in Florida. Nothing but chains for pizza. We would usually end up making our own instead. And every time the wife and I came home, the first night was always pizza for dinner.

I’m a big fan of Family pizza. It’s so authentic when they answer the phone and yell “what do you want” hahaha

Used to like Gigi’s before he sold it. Boston Bay makes a good gluten free pizza for my wife

    Morning all! Happy Tuesday

If the Pats had held GB to nothing or a FG and then scored a TD of their own I'd have shut it off and gone to bed. Instead GB marched down the field in no time flat and tied it up. :frusty:

Yea it'd be cool to figure something else out but anything smaller in diameter becomes restrictive which sucks.

Gigi's son use to run the kitchen over there when Gigi still owned it and possibly after. Now Alessio is doing his own deal, @LivinLoud and @DrFunker have tried it. Pretty sure TJ always gets pizza from there now

No one makes pizza as good as I do myself, so I rarely buy it out anymore. Pizzeria Regina's pizza is really good for chain pizza and there are a few independent places that are good enough but it's worth it to make it myself.

Don't forget to do your civic duty today!

Love Regina, from the locations in the north end and Faneuil. Can’t find anything like that around here.

Voted early at town hall on Friday. Not a fan of all my personal information being printed on an envelope associated with a ballot but I suppose that’s the price we pay for convenience.

I do for the most part! Here’s what I don’t like about alessios, they’re closed on Sunday. That’s the only thing. So for football and pizza, I have to go somewhere else. But other than that it’s great. Never tried family

The only thing approaching 'chain pizza' I've had in the last few years has been Portland Pie Company, since they've got 7 locations now

I stopped by their Nashua location years ago when I lived up near there. Decent pizza. They used to sell their dough at some of the local grocery stores around here. I’ve done some grilled pizza on a stone using that. Can’t find it lately though.

Yeah, I use their dough balls when I'm feeling lazy and don't want to make the dough from scratch. The 'Beer' is a favorite. Their Gluten-Free variety has come in handy, too, since the girlfriend has gone gluten free lately. It's a lot easier to grab one of their GF doughballs than it is to try and mix up a batch at home.

Weird that they're hard to find, though. The local Hannaford & Shaw's stores always have a ton in the deli section.
