Sport guys? I only have a sport because it meets my needs. I honestly dont hold any feeling towards what TRD package someone has. We all bought the one we wanted. So the bandwagon of "sport vs Off road" is a complete waste of time. Its personal preference and that is all.

    Cheers

Dang near huh. My truck doesn't look half as good as yours though.
But speaking of Blue Tacomas, check out this beast I found online

For me it came down to finding the scoop distracting from the cockpit view. Same reason I ended up going with an SR5 over an OR when i bought my wife's 4Runner last week.

Sport is plenty capable off road. Way more than people think. I’d been fine with one. Heck, I’d been just as happy had Toyota offered an SR with a manual.

Yes. As in if they bought a sport, OR, pro, limited, Sr, SR5. Now we can add sx guys too. It's all just people reaffirming what they bought.

    No one cares.

That new SX is a pretty good looking truck, imagine it will sell well.

Seems like 4x2 vs 4x4 is a bigger decision point, but for some reason Sport vs Off Road is the heated debate.

As always, test drive both and see what you like best.

4x4 and 4x2 is the major one. But since that’s a no brainer we gotta pick apart the little stuff lol. My vote is it’s get what you like and get the one you could get a better deal on. When I was looking the sport was 33 and the OR was 31 so I went off-road for price and I like MT personally. every car I have owned has been MT except 1 and I would prefer not to do that again.

People will almost always argue their choice was better and it probably was, for their situation. Otherwise they might have purchased something else, don't get me wrong there are always those who got a truck and a few months later realize they don't like it... But for the most part once you buy in you need to do everything you can to justify YOUR choice.

For me the choice to get the Pro came down to 2 things #1 THE COLOR and #2 the suspension (I don't plan on doing much at all suspension wise, other than an AAL or Airbags for times I need to cover extra weight and don't want to sag, and maybe a small spacer to make up for any sag I get due to front bumper and winch when I get them).

I always have a back up plan though...

Backup plan #1 If for some reason I can't stand the headroom issue due to the moonroof, I will be keeping it till they release a Voodoo Blue Sport that I can trade it for, with a 6mt and without a moonroof. (YES SPORT) I like the scoop and honestly I like the body color fender flares. The chin spoiler would have to go though... for sure :) At that point I would also go all out on suspension and add an ARB Airlocker.

Backup plan to my back up plan... If they don't offer Voodoo Blue as a Sport, Same plan as above but find a used CAV Blue 6mt Sport with no moonroof.

So long story short for me I would probably get a Sport over an OR if I was to chose between the two.

Pro is a good option, but out of my range. They wouldn’t deal on it and wanted msrp. That said it’s a awesome choice and if they were close in price I would have gone that route. Then again if the sport and or were reversed I might have a hood scoop lol. You right, self serving bias is real. Gotta make sure we feel we made the right purchase and are not a idiot, even if we didn’t and we are lol. When I was in high school and worked at a car instal shop infinity would give us deals with no strings attached for installers because they knew we would take the 50 sub that was sold for 200 in our own car and then recommend it because we had it wand wanted to prove to ourselves it was the right choice. So they sell it at cost to installers and then full price to the customer. It worked too.

Atrac makes the MT OR version far superior off the lot to the sport MT for offroading. I can't believe someone would even debate this topic.

I worked in Car Audio back in the day as well. Alpine, Pioneer, JL Audio, MB Quart they all did the same thing and you are right it worked!

I would debate the "far superior" comment. Better maybe, superior is a bit of an extream claim.

If only I had the $4k to waste. I dream of dark blue. Add the matte and I'm a happy camper. With a wrap, I would be a bit more fearless on tighter trails.

In the end, I hope that site that makes magnetic guards gets an ACLB version.
