Buy it. I've been able to play a significant portion of the BETA and I have to say, it's pretty amazing IMHO. It's kinda heartbreaking when you think about the purpose and vision of this Vault and what actually occurs over the course of two hundred years in relation to the events of FO:3 & 4.

Ps4. I'll probably get it, it is Fallout after all. Really getting tired of online douchebaggery in general, but what can a fella do?

I actually quite enjoyed the little pvp I got into on Saturday. Some guy jumped me for a 10 cap bounty (Sorry guy who claimed that camp, you had like 260 screws and 100 adhesives... put a better lock on the toolbox) but ended up tossing a frag into a crowded area. we fought for about 15 minutes and vats was actually kinda cool in pvp, not over performing or anything. it felt like fallout 4, just a lot bigger and with some other people running around. I saw maybe 15-20 people total? only fought two guys. the above incident and some random guy in the woods.... 90% of my worries on pvp were eliminated in the beta and im not that interested in pvp, I like the idea of justice pvp and scavenging better.

Good feedback about your experience. Regarding the comparison with FO:4, I mostly agree but even in the BETA the game engine seems much more refined. 76 is gorgeous and the music/soundtrack is excellent. I'm happy to see a low player maximum on each server; it keeps the griefing to a minimum and if you don't want to interact with other players (or keep the interaction to a minimum), it's easy. I ran across a few people, but for the most part none were interested in talking and mainly just did their own thing. Traded a piece of boiled leather armor to one guy for caps. Did a few events with other folks and the event ideas are pretty fun. No PvP though.

Overall, my excitement for 76 has been validated. It's a beautiful game and it seems Bethesda implimented their online system really well. There are issues and bugs of course, but with the support that Bethesda has promised and demonstrated (i.e. FPS-movement "hack"/bug), Fallout 76 is only going to get better from what I feel is an already amazing game.

One thing I wasn't aware of, theft causes a bounty to be placed on your head? Makes sense of course, but I haven't stolen from anyone. Yet.

I agree with you on the comparison. My comments were not as clear as I intended after reading my post again. What I meant was that in fallout 4, you ran around, did quests and I got immersed into the game because of the NPCs and the dialogue. I felt the immersion was due to the content and the overall quality of the game.

In 76, I immediately felt immersed due to the sheer beauty, scope and detail of the environment. Yes, graphics were absolutely stunning in my opinion. However, what grabbed me was the attention to detail. When I did the mission where you have to test the water samples out of the river, pumps and inspect the results I couldn't help but notice the detail they put into the farm and settlement area. It felt sprawling, but was only a small spot on the map. The crop plots were logical, had the right stuff around them and the interior of the attached building fit as well.

Fast forward to the airport and it felt like FO4 did inside a building, but again with better detail, better graphics and layout. Heck even the trash piles on the ground made sense. They weren't randomly placed around the room, instead there was a pile of trash centered around a hole in the ceiling and smaller piles around the room where the ceiling was cracked. Little details, I know, but it was the icing on the cake for me.

When I said it felt like Fallout 4, I guess what I meant was that it felt like you played FO4. But in 76, because of the graphics, layout, execution, etc, it felt like a real world that Bethesda created. The engine is awesome. The graphics are awesome. The size of the map seems like it will take a long time to explore (like 30 mins to go what looked like a small distance on the map). Combine that with only 24 people, im not worried too much about griefers and unwanted pvp. Side note, it would be cool if the icons on the map for other players could be disabled. More realistic. Or maybe just do a smaller proximity based map for others players.

And yes, i got a bounty for breaking into a guy named Chris' tool box and stole all the contents. Honestly, i thought it was an NPC (the whole online, multiplayer thing hadn't really clicked yet). Then my buddy (teammate) noticed that my icon was red on his screen, not yellow. Insert your typical screwing with your buddy pot shots and what not, we found ourselves at the airport after he found a shot gun and wasted his ammo shooting at my feet.

Best way to describe it, FO 4 felt like the first time you jumped your bike as a kid and got all hyped up and wanted to do it again. 76 felt like at the same moment, Evil Knievel flew over my head and cleared 20 buses with fireworks flying from his tailpipe.
