    I have bought a few guns on-line from https://www.preppergunshop.com/
And really great customer service! All the way from there to here, Texas.

What would be rude is to handle guns they have in stock, figure out what you want. Then go buy the exact same gun online, and have it shipped there.

All the places I buy from will price match plus transfer fees. If the online store has
shipping fees that will also be added. So they order it in for you and
you still buy it from them. If they want to bump it a few dollars, fine. Will still buy from the LGS.

I definitely would not pull a move like that.

The stores I used to frequent before I moved were like that and would go out of their way to get me what I was looking for. Down here I keep getting Bersas, a Taurus or two, and other low end guns shoved in my face because I don’t need to “pay more for the same gun”.

I use lasers at work for construction (laying a run of pipes out, getting a level line across a wall for cutting holes, etc)

Green is way better than red.

No one said you went there and handled them. Most will match the total price ( ship, transfer) on the pre taxed price. If they won’t do that then they can’t complain. At least they are getting some money from the transfer and possible accessories.

Absolutely green is better, much brighter.
My main, long gun, ‘house’ gun is a modded Kel-tec Sub 2000 9mm with Glock 33 rnd mags. I do have a combo red laser with light only because it’s main use is inside the house. One of the first lasers I bought. Hind sight I would have bought a green one.
My other handgun lasers are green for both indoor/outdoor use.

I'm trying to figure out the specs for my sights for my M&P, I need suppressor height to be backup sights to the RMR and I can't use an M&P rear sight as there isn't enough material to mount the Optic and the sight behind it.

Puling specs from Trijicon for their M&P and Glock suppressor sights.

    M&P front .378
    M&P rear .353

    Difference .025
This shows that the M&P slide angles up towards the rear of the slide, or at least the barrel is slanted inside the slide.

    Glock front .365
    Gock rear. .361

    Difference .004
    Very flat slide/barrel.

    M&P front .378
    Glock rear .361

    Difference .017

Subtract the difference between the M&P sight set (.025) and the M&P/Glock combo (.017) and you get .008".

How much will the 8 thousandths difference influence POA/POI?

Edit: from some rough math at 7 yards deviation *should* be about .336" which translates to approximately 1.5" at 30 yards.

    Interesting! Thanks for the link!
Green for me based on my use. Prefer iron sights first, then scopes for longer distance. Laser for two main reasons, faster target aquisition in low light, and if for some reason can’t get the sights up to my eyeballs, aka wounded or holding someone or something etc.

I’ve only used a laser on a Sig P238 and a S&W bodyguard, I didn’t find it particularly helpful, but that might be because I haven’t trained with it.

Lasers on guns are great for letting your enemy know where you are and where you are aiming. And if you have to shoot while in a crowd, you may instantly create multiple witnesses that can testify as to where you were aiming.

I have a laser on my carry gun and don't think of it as a liability. If I'm ever in a scenario where I had to draw my carry gun, stealth wouldn't be my first priority. I'd WANT them to know that I had a gun pointed at them, and where it was aimed. I wouldn't be sniping somebody from concealment, where I'm worried about them spotting the laser, with my CCW.

It's all about having the correct setup for the scenario you expect to be in with a particular weapon. Chances are if you are in a crowd where that would be a concern you would only be carrying a concealed piece and you would have zero business pulling a trigger unless you are point blank with an active threat, chances of collateral damage are way too high to engage at any distance with a bunch of people around. Just like I wouldn't want a hubble scope on top of that concealed weapon I wouldn't want a visible laser on a rifle that I intended for longer range engagements. On the flip side of that though I know the guys over in the sandbox regularly carried M4s with infrared lasers that were only visible with NVGs on because they didn't have a whole lot of concern with the enemy having the equipment to spot them. All about planning for a given scenario.
