I have a 2000 White Tacoma SR5 PR with 225k. Baciaclly stock beside snug top, KnN filter and a sound system. I love my truck but my heat core just went out (it’s about to get cold here) and it’s about $1000-$1200 to fix. I looked into doing it myself(omg forget that). I really don’t want to put anymore money into the truck and I just had my second kid. So I’m going to trade her in for a 19’ Tacoma White TRD Pro so I have the back seats for the kids. Any one have a TRD Pro they can tell me any feedback about?

You make it sound like only the Pro comes in a double cab configuration. There are other trims that come in double cab, the Pro is very off road oriented and quite pricey. I mention pricey because you don’t want to spend 1.1k on fixing your truck but you’re considering taking on a $550+/mo car payment. That’s just the truck note.

I’m not trying to push you away from the Pro. I just feel that you may need more information before making a big choice like that.

Well I am lucky I have been saving all my pennies so I won’t have a car payment.
I just don’t see putting anymore money into a almost 19 year old truck. I get what your saying but I have have this truck since I was 18 and I want to get a truck with all options because I won’t get another one probably until I retire lol.

If you don't off-road a ton, just save your money and get a TRD-OR. Still has upgraded suspension, CRAWL Control, bed lights, bed outlet and $6,195 cheaper before taxes. For that money you can do whatever you wanted/needed to the truck to match or exceed the TRD-Pro.

It sounds like you worked hard, saved and you defiantly keep your trucks a long time. IMO buy the Pro it really has it ALL....except bigger tires ! I have no regrets since I got mine and encourage you to do the same.

i got my pro for me but i wanted it to be family friendly, got 3 young kids over here.

really glad i got it for me, but it's pretty marginal for the family. i can't fit all the car seats and stuff so i needed a larger vehicle. as long as i have a full family hauler the Taco is great. because it's mainly just for me

Very nice! I’m so pumped now! I got a dealer locking me on a White 19’ Pro. They are going to give me 3k for my truck. I think that pretty good offer for a 19 year old truck. I definitely got my money’s worth out of this truck.

Love my pro. Had a 2nd gen before this. This truck is better all around. Throw that first gen on Facebook or Craigslist you will get double what the dealer is giving you.

Going with a Pro Yay! I did that because I wanted Off road ability without the need to go and add "after" market lift that Toyota will not cover those components and everything else you added on. and get the full rubber floor mats at least for the back where the Kids will spill all kinds of things I sure your aware of that anyways it is just so much easier to blast the rubber ones clean at a car wash or at home.

Get the trim that is right for you. The Pros are pricey, and the dealers don't want to discount them, but they are one bad-a$$ truck. FYI, I ran into similar issues with my 2000 T4R. AC went out, needed new tires/brakes, and then the fuel injectors started failing. It was just too much in repairs to justify so I bit the bullet on a new truck. No regrets. Good luck with your purchase.

I wanted the pro but ended up getting a 2018 OR (premium+tech+trd skid plate+trd exhaust+trd shift knob) for just over 36k. The dealers around me wouldn't budge off of the MSRP for the PRO so it was close to a 9k difference. When said and done I'll probably put 1-2k into it to make it mine but I just couldn't justify the cost of the Pro. To each their own though, I just couldn't wrap my head around it.

The pro is a great truck no doubt but you will be screwed if you need to put baby seats in the back rear facing, takes a lot or room.
If your kids are bigger and sitting normal awesome! If they are babies you might want to try putting their seats in. 4runner has more room

If you're looking for more room go with the 4runner. If you have your heart is set on a Tacoma I'd suggest an SR5 or Off Road over the PRO just to save some money. Your choice though!
