I once broke a wild horse just to use as a pack mule. I believe you can have up to 3 horses within whistling distance so that helps out some but you have to keep an eye on them to make sure none are on the train tracks when you stop or you will see your horse and pelt get punted about 50 yrds.

withdrawals from this game are real :rofl:

throughout my work day I have a monitor on Twitch and I have been enjoying watching a streamer "Spamfish" play this game. hilarious, and he really enjoys every detail of the game. plus he rarely does missions so no spoilers.

I've broken several horses... for the fun of breaking horses. I didn't realize that you could caravan with multiple horses. How is this done?

Once you have a relationship with the horse that it responds to whistle calls then all horses close enough for the call come running. When I camp both of my horses were at camp so I imagine if you can have up to three then all three will follow you around and respond as one unless you command otherwise. You have to whistle multiple times as one always lags behind but they all will be highlighted on the map unless they are housed in the stables. Only one can have a saddle and hold your weapons though.

This is exactly what I do. You can have your primary horse, and break a second "temporary" horse in the wild or steal a second one. I always venture out with two horses (primary and temporary) and if I really need a third, I'll break another wild horse and ride that one while the other two follow. Keep in mind that it only takes a short while to bond with the third horse, at which point your "temporary" horse may stop following.

I stole a horse from Valentine, and did the same thing. Works decently well.

Dude, I know! Yesterday at work, I was just itching for 5 to come so I could race out the door. Collected some debts, spammed the shit out of the Limpany gold box and went and finally bought a gun that MIGHT kill someone without 6 shots. And finally paid off my bounty so those head hunters would leave me alone. Looked at the clock and it was like 2am!

I'm still not far in the game and only done two debt collections so far. When you do the ones on the list, do more get added automatically? Or is there a set poinjt in the game when more get added (like changing camps or something).

I bought the fast travel feature at camp but I think I've used it once maybe twice. I use the trains/stagecoaches way more often if I don't feel like riding there. I might have to start utilizing this caravan strategy though sounds efficient.

It seems like new debt collections are linked to changing camps, but I can't confirm for sure. Just seems to be my experience.

I don't know how long I played yesterday but at one point it hit me that I hadn't done a single story mission.

Anybody got a clue what the crazy bastard,in the river, screaming at the sky is all about? Its a different guy than the crazy blind guy asking for money. Every time I divert off a trail and just make my own path, I cross a river and this crazy bastard is just standing in the rapids or wherever just screaming at the sky like him and God are having a disagreement and he's just not having any of it.

LOL. I haven't done a story mission in like two days. I'm focused on clearing any of the white (optional) missions because apparently some will disappear as you advance the story missions.

Heard that too. I'm doing the same thing as I think I'm almost done with chapter 2 so I want to get all the side missions done in the area before doing more story ones.

Not sure. Sounds like you and I are at the exact same spot in the game. I did the polish guy job, and the lady that tries to have her deadbeat boyfriend beat you up.

I used the gold trick just to avoid struggling on every little thing. And the bounty hunters are relentless. All for a crime I didn't do. Got ambushed by 5 guys, killed them all, ran their pockets, and somehow I'M the asshole. Of course it went down at a busy crossroads so there are like 90 witnesses a minute going by, and that's how I got reported.

    Yeah.
I try to clear out all side stuff starting with the white bubbles, then small yellow, then big yellow, just so I don't miss anything. I was approaching a white one by a lake and a copperhead started spooking my horse, so I shot it (used like 10 bullets, snakes freak me out) and the white mission went unavailable because I was raising hell.

The only thing I've wished R* would have done differently so far, is slowing day the day/night cycle. I feel like I leave camp at 6AM, get a deer back to camp, and it's noon. Then by the time I'm at whatever mission I was planning on doing, its 4PM and then I'm doing the mission in the dark.

Had this happen to me yesterday too. Take a nap and come back later. It should re-appear.
