Yep, it’s a piece of crap. Why I replaced it with a pioneer. You won’t regret it.

Never had a problem with a road atlas only a fool depends on a nav system or phone.

    Check that yours is updated:

    https://securedp.toyota.com/download-app/getHeadUnits

Don't get hung up on the Sept 2017 version date. Check the actual version numbers in your head unit. The OTA updates are not full firmware updates.

Did the update and at first try it appears to have fixed the problem with my iPhone X. Time will tell if it truly fixed the problem.

2017 owners hate it too. I just use native Bluetooth and dumped the entune and XM crap due to poor performance and connectivity issues.

I like Apple CarPlay, but the Toyota system sounds good and works fine. Do you keep all the built in system settings with an aftermarket unit? If you loose that, not sure it's worth switching. Maybe give it some more time.

Gave it two weeks then replaced it. I also set all my settings the way I liked before replacing the unit. Also, if needed, the dealer can reset my settings also, or I can buy a handheld device like carista on Amazon. You should hear the difference this pioneer head unit puts out on the stock speakers, it’s night and day.00718059-FD36-4D40-B261-24CF9DFC0FF7.jpg

I know this is strongly opinion based but can someone explain the hate for etune?!? I seriously dont get it. Im 24 grew up on electronics of all kinds and currently work in the IT field in the bay area. My point being Im tech savy and have worked with tech for awhile now. I think there isnt anything wrong with the etune system and performs everything i need/want it to do. I really feel people hate on this with no real backing. So if anyone can provide incite please do!

As far as OEM units go, I think it is pretty good esp considering what was available only a few years ago. They might want to keep the updates coming? It's been quiet for a while (other than the upcoming Pandora delete) and there has been a lot of updates on the interfacing devices.

But as far as what is possible, OEM systems are always weaksauce. It is a matter of understanding and managing expectations.

In total, it works well enough for me given that it is an OEM system. So, I have no desire to swap it out.

Nice! I'm a huge Nissan guy, and I have been getting kind of pissed off with Entune lately, so I may just do this.

Excellent taste in radio stations, as well.

My iPhone (7) connectivity is just fine with Entune for both phone calls and Bluetooth music, but the overall visual design is about as clunky as you can get with a really ugly layout and horrible font choices, and of course, no CarPlay. It also seems like the native resolution of the screen is too low to support thinner, classier fonts. I used the built-in nav once, and once only then went back to my phone. Whoever designed that nav system apparently never used one that really worked. I mean, if you're not going to do it right, why bother at all. At some point I will likely swap out the head unit but there are a few other priorities in front of that.
