Red Dead Redemption 2

A few times I got to the general area of the mission and hunted in the area and then camped out there for the night and then done the mission in the morning. Seems to work pretty good.

 

I shot the blind guy in the face with my varmint rifle. I thought about picking off the crazy river guy from a cliff too.

have you tried to go back and hunt again? if you didn't kill them then I have to believe they are still alive.

 

I’m saying on that mission to get the bear with that old guy. Or the one with the wildlife photographer. The ones with the question marks on the map. Not sure if I’m making any any sense.

 

They are, I didn't pursue the legendary bear initially in one of the beginning missions and I went back and killed it later on the side.

 

I'm sure they're still available..

 

On a side note, the cut scene-ish sequence where you kill that bear is pretty metal. Or at least the way it went down for me.

 

Somewhere on the map there is a nice antler knife stuck in a giant dead bears neck with a mauled dead hunter underneath it.

 

Yeah that’s the part I’m talking about! I shot the bear a bunch of times, he ran off, we tracked him down and I tried to shoot him with my rifle but he didn’t die and ended up killing me. Is there a way I can re-do that part, that you know of?

 

Maybe under the game progress menu you can redo the mission. I'm not sure as I've never tried to redo anything yet.

 

Go back to the area and use the eagle eye to pick up the bears trail. that will cause it to respawn.

 

I deadeyed him, shot him like 4 times in the face, he mauled me and it went to one of those "frantically press A" cut scene modes, and then you basically go full "Raffi from The League GATTACA! mode on the bear and you kill it.

Probably just go back, eagle eye the trail, and it'll probably regenerate that mission.

 

From my understanding, until you kill the animal, or if you can see on the map that the sketch of the legendary animal is crossed out, it’ll still be there.

 

What did you shoot him with? I think I killed mine with a repeater pretty easily.

 

My horse took a shit right in front of me...

 

Repeater on deadeye mode to the nose/face with 4 or 5 shots because he was already in a charge. Mauled me, got him in the chin with a knife in the cut scene, kicked him off me, then blasted him in the face point blank with the repeater again and dropped him.

My repeater takes like 3 shots to kill an average person though. The guns in RDR 2 seem WAY underpowered compared to RDR 1, or is it just me?

 

I think R* just wants to see more head shots. My Lancaster repeater does one shot kills to the head or body but I'm using express cartridges.

 

Express shells in every gun and try to use dead eye in big fire fights for headshots. Express shots with the other higher damage repeater are 2 shot kills at mid distance and 1 at close distance or 1 shot at med to long range with headshot. Shotgun with slugs for close up work

 

I have get serious tonight and replace all my ammo with the good stuff. And get a bandolier.

I'm all prepared to go back to the great white north after the Arabian horse and legendary buffalo. Last time I tried, I didn't bring any winter gear and went through my food quickly trying not to die from exposure. The stupid horse ran away, I got attacked by wolves, got mad and went two middle fingers in the air at the buffalo, and then rode my horse off a waterfall on the way home, killing the poor thing. Not a good hunting trip.
