    I remember the day JFK was assassinated,mom sent me across the street to borrow some sugar for baking. Our neighbor was hysterical , told me to go home and tell my mom. My mother had turned on the radio and her show had been interrupted, she was crying and in shock. We turned on the TV to watch the coverage. Dad came home from work early to console her. It was a very sad day. When I was older I remember seeing the olive green Chrysler,s driving down the street. They were delivering the news no parent ever wanted to here, there son was not coming home from Vietnam.

    I remember a time where America was obsessed with all things Australian. Roos, Koalas, Dundee, Outback Steakhouse, Paul Hogan hocking Subarus, Fosters and Men at Work.

    I still listen to Men at Work and never drank a Fosters.
