well i finally got my led's from oznium.com yesterday and decided to go ahead and do it. i didnt realize how small those damn things were but i made it happen. here is the finished product. i took the pic with my phone so it isnt that great of a pic. let me know what you think. i think it looks sweet. now i just have to figure out how to change the a/c panel lights out so that everything matches. my stereo has blue lights as well.

Seems like alot of work for something that you can dim if the orange is bothersome. IDK bet the mod was fun to tackle. Congrats on the blue lights.

definitely know what you mean last night i replaced my PIAA lights on/off switches with factory toyota switches that fit in the dash knockouts. Didnt need it, the PIAA ones worked fine, its sick how much i think of ways to spend money and time on this truck.

this was fairly easy to do. this was my first experience with soldering on a circuit card. http://www.oznium.com/plcc-2 this is where i got the LED's from. here is the directions i followed. not real descriptive on the actual soldering part but i figured it out. just a little solder on either side. the removal for the whole dash is in the link at the begining of the article. hope this helps.

with me having to stop and tend to the little one and help the wife unload a couple groceries i think it took me a couple hours. if you know how to solder fairly well i would say about an hour total (removing dash, tearing it apart, replacing the leds, putting it back together and reinstalling the dash). the needles are pretty tight, no set screws, i just took a medium flat tip screw driver and put it under the black part and rolled it while pulling up on the needle. came right off. hope this helps.

For those who changed the other dash lights: How many LEDs are needed and are they the same as the cluster? I've been interested in doing my whole dash as well.

Hey montgomery...that looks really nice! I would love to do that too but tearing out the entire dash is a bit scary.
