The spot I had to put an end to my backpacking trip was not a bad spot either. Would have camped there but was opening day of deer season and lotta traffic.

Love it, survived 9 straight hours of rain earlier in Oct on the trail and not a single drop inside. To me it is a perfect blend of room plus being borderline ultralight

My base is at 14 but I am also not packing for a thru hike either. I looked at a lot of different stuff, me not carrying trekking poles was a big influence to go with a traditional pole structured tent. The Copper Spur won out because it offered a little bit of everything, a true stand alone tent, creature comforts like room inside, reasonably light weight, reliability in the elements. Plus the 1 man is really not much lighter 4-5oz than the 2

I've got most of the zpacks lineup: Original 50l pack, 8.5'x11' tarp, double bath tub ground cloth, challenger rain jacket, gators (I'm actually the guy that worked with them on a prototype before they officially came out), countless stuff sacks and zip packs, and their sleeping bag. All well worth the $$.

Though I was disappointed to see them move away from customization to their gear. Its half the reason I buy cottage...

All that said, the tarp and the sleeping bag still astound me at their weight, quality, and convenience. My sleeping bag is the long 20 degree bag and I think it weighs in under a pound. And the tarp has been through MANY storms, and is still going strong. Any holes or punctures? Just slap some cuben fiber tape on it (both sides) and youre done, good as new!

For tarp deployment ease, check out dutchware gear.
    https://dutchwaregear.com/

Specifically the Fleaz (think ultralite TI figure 9's)
    https://dutchwaregear.com/product/fleaz/

QiWiz has some good lightweight options for saws and trowels.

A twig burning stove will save you weight on fuel, though there are a lot of areas that don't allow them.

Sorry for the delay. I dont believe there are any special regs on the S Fork but I catch and release only so you should check first. I know for sure that lures are ok. They encourage guys to kill all rainbows caught because they are invasive and cross breed with the native west slope cutthroat. Take a rod with you next time. Its a great fishery.
