I love when there’s a variation in colors. The worst interiors are the ones that are all one solid color.

I meant the Grab Handle up on the A Pillar, it looks like a different plastic too.

Different plastics for different jobs. There's lots of different metal alloys that make up a tacoma too.

No it’s not, I rented a PRO in San Diego, and the truck had the same issue. When I was doing walk around noticed it asked the owner and he said waiting on new part from Toyota, they were covering it bc they determined that the heat caused it.

I've seen the same issue on a Lexus NX with about 15,000 miles on it. Both mirrors were melted along with the windshield trim. Cheap/recycled/thin plastics?

I use 303 protectant and all the plastic/black trim looks the same in my Offroad. If the plastic stays dry, it will look different shades depending on exposure to sun.

I can guarantee it’s different. I noticed this on day 2 of owning the truck and I bought it brand new.

    It’s quite embarrassing.

I don't doubt you, my trim looks different depending on the sun angle. It drove me crazy until I started using 303.

Toyota uses recycled bio material for its plastics in a lot of other vehicles so I guess it's safe to assume they do the same for the tacoma hence an inconsistent color would be my theory

Mine does too. But it should all be the same. It looks cheap.

You're right. Just realized where that's at on the body.
