All my friends from H.S. who stuck around town and never went out and "chased their dreams" or even just "tried something new" are all in a real bad place right now. Alcohol or drugs, no one is "doing good". That doesn't mean you will instantly turn into a dirtbag, and plenty of people don't. But look around and see what your future is like in your town without gaining a difference experience or opening your mind to different options than you grew up with. If that can make you happy and content, stay where you are. If not, GTFO. Your family doesn't want to see you go, which is sweet and understandable, but probably not in your best interest.

This is your life, your choice, no one else and your parents will still love you when you move, and it actually makes seeing them more special. I moved to NC without knowing anyone, and only having a place to stay for a week, and no job. I had some rough spots, I did more partying than I should at points etc... But now I am back where I grew up, sober and closer to my parents than I ever was, or thought I could be.

Sometimes people need space to develop into what they know they can be, without the people you know constantly saying "Hey, the old Mike wouldn't do that".

If you don't go because of backlash from other people, but your gf wants to, and you want to...

Your gf will eventually leave you, because you won't do what's best for you two and take things to another level (and she should imo), and you will hate yourself because you never did what you wanted and will always think about what could be.

I could be super wrong here, or way out of line, and if I am, I apologize , but I've seen too many people I grew up with turn into sacks of shit, to not encourage someone to do what they want with their lives. Especially when what you want isn't a "bad" or dangerous thing. Your parents mean well, but they are holding you back out of personal reasons (they love you and want to see you all the time), not because you aren't capable. Again, sorry if I said anything that you take offense too, I just think you should make the move and want to encourage that.

I grew up in Northboro. I lived off of Vina's in Highschool on the weekends. My mom would leave me a 20 for delivery when she'd go out with friends for dinner. Many nights were spent slamming pizza and playing World of Warcraft.

Man we are almost neighbors. I drive past that area every time I head to southern Mass to dirt bike.

    Morning all. Happy hump day

Not yet. I've heard that it's good and that they've got huge portions, but I don't spend a whole lot of time in Portland even though it's only 45 minutes away.

I keep in touch with very few people from HS, but of the ones who are still around here, I only know of about three that are doing well.

Sometimes you can predict that they won't end up very successful. When I still had a Facebook account, I remember seeing a status update from someone I went to high school with. He was super excited about getting his first job, at the general store near his house, at 22 years old. He was a gamer kid in high school, and that consumed his life. I guess he never grew out of it. Another one worked retail with me in high school and had a fight with the general manager when he found out I was making slightly more. GM basically told him pay reflects work ethic and if his improves he'd gladly adjust his compensation. The kid stormed out and never came back. Last I heard, he never got another job and it's 10 years later now.

White’s Loggers. Humpty-Dumpty EXPENSIVE but coming up on 20 years September-May daily, with portions of that time spent in copious amounts of cow manure...that shit eats leather if you don’t mink-oil. Worth the investment.

For me, that'd be half way to be traded in... :anonymous: That said, I'm planning on keeping my current truck a bit longer. It's a lot more serviceable than my last trucks so that should be feasible and it shouldn't end up being a PITA to work on.

I got yours on ice here. We will have to figure something out to get it to you. Got one for @DrFunker as well. It's pretty solid. PB chocolate stout . Of the tap is amazing. The cans are good as well.

Good in the can. Better off the tap. It's right behind the airport as if you're taking the back way to Derry. They've got a nice venue . I'm a fan of their DIPA as well

If you like dogs, they've got a shop pit bull thats super rad

You haven't spoken out of line at all. Said a lot of things that I'm feeling and thinking about the whole decision. GF was all for it but then we lost the apartment and now had to look at a cheaper unkept option. She is just freaking out that she won't be safe or comfortable....maybe I should post those pictures on here to see if people more experienced see what I'm not. There's a lot unseen too though, so it's a crapshoot
