Just got the 2019 Tacoma TRD Pro. The sun roof is nice at night. The Florida sun coming through the glass can be too intense during the day.

True overlanders have roof racks with lights and some pelican containers on top ;)

I like the top down in mine. But seriously I've had several vehicles with moon roofs and never had a leak. I like them.

Isn’t it better to get “ejaculated” elsewhere? Don’t want to mess up my truck.

Had a factory manual pop-up in my '92 Toyota Truck. Just got one in my '18 Tacoma. It was a must have, I enjoy the sunshine, especially during the Spring, Winter, and Fall. Never had a problem with our other factory installed sunroofs in other cars.

“In fatal crashes, 77 percent of passenger vehicle occupants who were totally ejected from vehicles were killed. Seat belts are effective in preventing total ejections: only 1 percent of the occupants reported to have been using restraints were totally ejected, compared with 30 percent of the unrestrained occupants.“

    https://crashstats.nhtsa.dot.gov/Api/Public/ViewPublication/811162

Wear your seatbelt properly and you don’t get ejected.

Must be hard for the 77% to remember if they were wearing it. Hard to believe anyone smart enough to buy a taco wouldn’t.

So now you are trying to talk yourself out of losing thousands of dollars by trading for truck with a moonroof? Fear is an interesting strategy.

I made a mistake long ago on a vehicle purchase. I decided to save money by getting a V6 instead of the V8 I wanted. I’ll never skimp on features I want.

If you plan to keep your truck forever, get the moonroof. If not, get it on your next vehicle or truck.

Seatbelt autotensioners and the seatbelt still being clipped in are the indicators. The reporters are the investigators.

The 77% of occupants who were ejected were killed. The stat includes seatbelted and non seatbelted occupants. I would assume that the 1% of occupants wearing them who were ejected were not wearing them properly, but it’s hard to tell if someone was wearing it properly after a crash.

I am also surprised people still don’t wear seatbelts.

....and here I am, wishing my truck DID NOT have a sunroof.. I'm only 5'11 and I hit my head on the headliner frequently. I've also used it about twice, in 2 1/2 years.

That's so odd. I am also 5'11 and I've never hit my head on the headliner...though I admit I haven't hit the trails with this Tacoma, yet. I find there are still several inches of clearance between the top of my head and the headliner. I also feel like there's more head room in my 2018 w/moon roof than there was in the 2017 w/moon roof I test drove almost 2 years ago.

Personally, in just about any other type of vehicle I am pro sunroof. But a Tacoma isn't a vehicle I necessarily think should have a sunroof. Just my opinion, to each his own

Getting in and out is when it usually happens, although i've had it happen on some bumps off road as well. There also could be a difference in torso length to take into account. Longer legs / vs longer torso, possibly? Static, i have about an inch clearance from top of head to the liner.
