Kinda why I really worry about this air method haha, I've seen people pull the bed and knock it back out with a piece of wood.

    Shows you what I know.
How do you go about getting piece of wood inside the tank?

I just want to wheel hard, and nothing break, ever. Is that doable?

Yes is definitely my answer, but let me explain.

The skids do their job. I have beat the ever living shit out of them with zero damage to anything they cover up. So yes, they absolutely do their job.

I have said on several occasions that I wish they were 1/4" instead because of how bent up mine are. They are pretty frustrating to take off and put on because they are so bent. I have to beat on them often to get them back to close enough to fit. However, I'm sure the added weight of 1/4" skids would also make them aggravating to remove and install, so It's probably a toss up. I imagine the 1/4" skids would be hell to re-shape when you did bend them.

If you're not planning to smash rocks, then 3/8" steel is waaaaaaaay more than enough. If you are, 3/8" is enough with a little time spent un-mangling them.

I'd also note that my skids have no gussets or reinforcements of any kind. If the ones you ordered do, they will be much more resistant to deforming.

Lots of dust and custom dents, Check Build
I was able to get a lot of the dent out of my tank by removing the sending unit and hitting the dent out with whatever you can find.

I did it by pulling the tank, and setting it down a soft surface, but you could also do it by pulling the bed.

Unfortunately there's a plastic baffle that surrounds the sending unit, so you can really hit anyway except directly below. Also adds a little complication if you bent your sending unit like I did.

Gotcha, haven't really been full on wheeling yet. Just some fs roads and ready to tackle some better stuff.

If you are wheeling with a group and nothing breaks you are not wheeling hard enough trails.
I would rather it not be me that breaks but a lot of times it is. :annoyed:

Gonna have to wait till next June now. Mountains are snowed in more and more each day.

Other stuff to see no doubt but the really good stuff is snowed in now.
