tips and tricks to get these on? I struggled to get the top of the cover slid under the black part of the bumper... maybe it's just me. Try again later.

I haven't done it yet, but the videos I've seen show you have to pull the black plastic at the top up out of it's snaps.

I basically started the cover under the black plastic lip and slowly slid the cover in from the outside of the vehicle inward. I believe someone posted earlier in this thread highlighting the proceeder I'm talking about.

I love these, but has anyone considered just doing a color matched vinyl wrap?

I used a plastic trim tool to pry the top piece up and slide the covers under. That helped.

I kind of just like the black...I know the TRD Pro is color matched, but the all black rear bumper looks stealthier for mall crawling truck bunnies :spy:

Let me know if you were able to get it! @2017OR said this, but I use a plastic trim tool to get enough clearance to wedge the BumperShell under the step pad. After you get most of it under, you should be able to slide it around in there. Just make sure that you don't let the tape touch down until it's positioned where you want it.

@eCOOL1 Any closeups photos mounted on a Tacoma of the difference between paintable, matte black, and Swirl TPO? I’m trying to hold out for Quicksand, but I may pull the trigger on one of the black/paintable color options.

No progress yet! We had to cancel our meeting with a painter last Friday so I'm trying to reschedule with him right now. I don't want to have you hold out forever though. Could @Sav @Vanderjdm @KnoxT @The Real Moondog or anyone else help out with some pics of the either the Matte Black or TPO up close on their truck? Thanks! @Rob Daman has some close-ups of the colors themselves on post #329. I would only go the "paintable" route if you are planning on having them painted yourself. It's pre-scuffed for paint, so without anything done to it, it is not a good looking finished surface.
