I know the feeling. My Corvette was attacked by a 4x8 sheet of 3/8" plywood that decided to catch a wind gust and fly out of the ditch on 290, down by the turnoff to the farmer's college. It got fixed, but I never felt the same...

 

The wifie didn't want to wait for the '19 RAV4 to appear, so bought a new VW Tiguan. #atleastitsnotavolvo

 

Those are nice we almost got one but ended up with a toureg cause she luvs the diesel chatter an turbo spool... the front camera on the tiguan is wonderful.

 

Haha I can relate to a degree with military service an being laidoff 4x thru dod contracts...great money but no stability where im at now is a life long career if I want, money meh wont ever be welloff but pays the bills.

 

Yeah until you have to go through getting laid off several times, you don't really take into account the value of job security.. That's the main reason I went into accounting. Sure it's boring af sometimes and a pita during tax season, but unless some serious shit hits the fan and we no longer have to file our taxes, the work will always be there

 

Good forward thinking on your part..i was after the quick paycheck an toyz which all got sold to make ends meet an moving around the country. But life is good now with family, house, an truck which was dictated to me only money pitt im allowed to have. But shes onboard for a 3rd gen once this ones paid off

 

That's good to hear, things have leveled out for you! You gonna trade your's in for a 3rd gen? or buy her one?

 

Heavens no keeping it I have wasted to much money to just give it away. Gonna be a trail rig an 3rd gen for me a very mildly built DD OR longbed. Shes keeping the VW for a while.

 

Noiceee! Cant say I've ever ridden in a 3rd gen. I hear the interiors are quite nice.

 

We test drove one prior to getting one I have now..i will say it was a way better ride stock for stock more room, the interior was sweet I didnt like the power band but from my understanding the new ecu updates resolved that.

 

Ive been wanting to test drive one of the 6spds with the 3.5. I hear the new trans got some nice updates. Also curious what the ride quality is like. I bet it does ride better stock than a stock gen 2. Have never really been impressed with the ride quality of my stock sport

 

We test drove an OR it was a little soft but plush comapred to ours. I want an auto just cause Im lazy an remote start.

She likes it; I wish she had held out for a Toyota. Her money, her car. And with a 6 year, 72K warranty, not my problem.

 

I feel ya i wanted mine in a t4r she liked the way it looked but not the ride an blindspots as she stated.

She really wanted the Volvo XC40. It helped her not have buyer's remorse when Consumer Reports ranked all the brands about the same time she bought the VW. Volvo was dead f***ing last....
