Well, that's what I'm saying. If you are standing watch in a van, make the van your own portacan. It will always be cleaner. It will always be drier. It will always be warmer. And you can go any time you want. Naturally just for shits, not for pisses. Use some duct tape and black trash bags to cover the windows when it's time to go. Just call it in and say you are stepping away for a break. But don't step anywhere. When I was first introduced to this I thought the guys telling me were pulling a prank. After a while it became way better than any other experience. I even had my own seat. I removed those little things on the bottom of the seat that keeps it off the porcelain and re-positioned them so they fit around the opening of the bucket. That kept the seat from sliding off. I know it sounds crazy but I am not making any of this up. LOL

And as far as squatting goes. True story, a guy we were hunting with went into the woods to take a shit. He came back with his insulated, camo coveralls balled up in his arms, he was carrying them. He immediately put them into a trash bag and tied it shut. We all just watched. When he came over to the camp fire we all looked at him and were like WTF?! He said he pulled them down to take a crap but somehow they rode back up and instead of shitting on the ground he shit in them instead. LOL He said he tried to use sticks and leaves to get it out but only smeared it around making it worse. He froze the following couple of days left on that hunt wearing blue jeans. LOL

Moral, be careful when you squat in the woods!

Not sure. We've been trying to rally them up for months and finally had success.

Back in AIT, we had a nutbag fellow 'cruit that had joined with his wife, on the buddy system. It turned out that she had found a new buddy or two, and he was not happy with his lot in life. He got drunk, stripped nekkid in the barracks, shit on the latrine floor, and got the crap all over his bare feet. He then proceeded to run over the bunks of the platoon leaders, leaving poopy footprints all over the place.

Our sergeant was some kind of religious dude who was always gone on Saturdays and most of Sundays, just coming back for Sunday evening formation. I have never heard a religious person swear as much as that guy did, calling the soldier out in front of about 140 of us, including the 'cruit's (soon to be, I suspect, ex-), wife. I felt horrible for the guy.

Just saying, they came before Tacomas. And even though Toyota stole the design from our military, they were made.in Japan, can't say that about our trucks. Gotta respect the elders.

I've known a lot of those guys since I got my 40 in '10. The group has basically died off, but a couple of young pups tried to get it started again, and it's been a struggle. It ain't about the vehicle; like I said, I have one in my garage.

ETA: Over 40K posts? Holy schnikes!
