Hondo Garage's New Thing

I cant remember but are the extrusion measurements on here anywhere or can someone get me the dimensions of the camper extrusion? I am working on having a custom mount made and need the extrusion dimensions pretty quickly.

I’m packing my GFC right now and have a micrometer with me. What exactly would you like?

 

I suppose overall width of the extrusion body and dimensions of the t-slot grooves (measure center of 1st groove to 2nd groove and then to 3rd groove)

Yup, youre the real hero! Could you also measure how much the rear cnc mount thingy sticks out off the extrusion? Im referring to that cnc piece that holds the extrusion together in the back.

 

Awesome, is it the same distance from the extrusion on the other side of that piece?

 

Don’t forget to account for the friction lock sticking back further. That was what caused me headaches with my rear awning mount.

More pre-Baja testing of the GFC in the driveway last night with family of four. Two up top and two down below. Still need to get a telescoping ladder for the side, but the rest of testing was a success.

This time I slept with my head toward the back of the truck and I liked that too. I'm not sure which direction I like sleeping best. Likely we'll just choose the sleeping direction based on how level or not-so-level the ground is, as in, if one end is slightly higher we'll put our heads that way since both work.

 

This mount wouldn't happen to be for a Kinsmen Hardware awning, would it? I put down my deposit today and Matthew said he had a guy in Georgia that was getting one for a GFC. If so thanks for blazing this trail for me. My GFC is in production and I should have mine a couple weeks after you do.

 

That’d be interesting. I sub’d the the Kinsman mailing list and request GFC mounts.... seems like it’s the new hot ticket.

At very least BROG is going to be at Expo. I’ll try to hook up with them/ Kinsman to see if we can check on feasibility.

 

You hit the nail on the head. I am hooking up with them at expo east and then driving my GFC to his shop the day after I return from getting my GFC installed. We should be able to get the awning fitted and going by the end of the month. I will post pictures and let you know how it goes. But yes, I am the guy from GA. Lol

 

Pre Nov 11 is $1349 the up to $1499, so same as Alucab but made in USA and using USA materials.

Unfortunately I did. Lol. But the wife said it would be ok to buy the kinsmen and either sell or keep the eezi awn. I dont get the kinsmen until after the gfc trip so I actually may use it on that trip then sell. Idk yet. Lol. It sucks but I dont want to pass up this new awning, especially since the awesome wife approved.

You two have piqued my interest. Where can I find out more details: dimensions, weight, preorder, etc? The Kinsmen Hardware website and Blue Ridge Overland Gear don't have much info.
