    Honestly....

Yes... I guess that is why some people carry cheap oil with them on trips. Lesson learned, but also some good lessons learned on recovery and such.

I need to acquire another milk jug so I can throw a cheap 5qt bottle of oil and a cheap 5qt bottle of coolant in it along with some other fluids for trips as a JIC thing.

I will be getting the medium rigid box from Home Depot soon, it is the perfect size to keep the Impact socket set in, so I will be able to keep a majority of all my tools in one location for now on instead of different places around the truck.

If not, then we won't be letting him go on trails with us at all.

@spicytaco123tnt I went and bought this thing just because of your damn UCA bolts... $15.99 at Harbor Freight with a 20% off coupon and found a youtube video where it is compared to other name brand breaker bars and it holds up to the same torques as them without bending...

Anyone have experience with center support bearing and/or u-joint replacement? Might need to get one or both done soon. :(

You mean the carrier bearing on the driveshaft?

I haven’t had mine done by itself; I paid Tandem to do it when when fixed my driveshaft.

Get a 1 piece driveshaft and take care of it all at once. You can remove and replace the whole assembly in about 30 mins.

Otherwise, remove the whole DS assembly to work on it. The carrier bearing should be held on by 2 bolts and each end of the driveshaft with 4 bolts/nuts. You probably have to split the driveshaft to replace the carrier bearing. Once you get the 2 DS pieces split, there should be a big nut on the front driveshaft that you'll need an impact gun to remove. The CB should slide off after that. Not sure about u joints but should just be a few clips to remove and hammering out a pin to remove from the driveshaft. Just be sure to mark the position of the driveshaft before removing so you install in the same orientation.

    Truck stuff
Saw this earlier and posted in the stalker thread.
I always have a breaker bar that rear cubby or back floor of the truck.
I feel like I read somewhere that the cb needs to be pressed in/out for replacing. Im not sure though as I've never tried or really researched it. Just trade it in for a new truck! I know you want to. :anonymous:

Yeah. The part I am referring to is the same part you are referring to.
That would definitely be easier and I love that option, but those will run me 3-400 versus under 100 for just parts on a truck that may only be in my possession for a few more months. See below VV

Good luck. There are plants of horror stories about driveline vibrations on the front page.

Well I'm not trying to fix any vibe problems. I have had a funny squeak develop in reverse only (wtf?) Based on some searching it sounds like it could either be a u-joint or the center support bearing going out. I've had someone drive it for me while I listen and it sounds like it's coming from that same general area.

Still doing some investigating and getting all my options ironed out.

I have always had a breaker bar in the truck, but it was a smaller one... so will now always have two breakers bars in the truck...

I self identify as an attack helicopter.

Do we have any of those people around here?

There's a difference between doing it and feeling the need to tell everyone that you do it. It's like being a vegan or a Mormon.
