Awesome set up. I'd like to see what your head units look like mounted to the DMM. I'm considering the same thing.

Air bags are the best for towing because you can inflate them when you need them for extra weight but they won't make your ride stiffer when unloaded.

Yep, Have one. I am building a shelf/mount for it so I can put it in backseat and keep it level and accessible. Great Idea, Thanks

I am thinking that would be the best. Trying to stay decently priced is the issue.

I've traveled the entire range from new mexico/Arizona all the way up to southern Montana. I would say Yellowstone is the most magical place I've been. The tetons in Wyoming is great, all of CO and moab also. But I still like CO the best.

i have the firestone ride rite bags on my taco. love them. easy install so shouldn't take a reasonable mechanic with legit tools long.

    X2 on the ride-rites.

I’d say pack a tire puncture repair kit.

Maybe a cheap IR sensor gun to keep an eye on trailer tires and bearings. Trailer tires and bearings seem fairly failure prone.

Or the cheap route...just put your hand on the hubs at every stop.

The third one over on the right is where the icom is going back on.

Yeah I know the cords showing are ugly. I will run then nearly when the icom is ready

I drove cross country twice in a busted up hooptie ass Mitsubishi Lancer. All you really need is cash for hotels and food and a iPhone with GPS and a playlist you won’t get sick of in a few days... just saying.

I have millions of miles driving trucks across this great country .I have seen most of it. However not with my wife most of the time. Now I get to see it slower and more enjoyable .All that time and I still touch every tire and hub every time I stop. Hard habit to break which is a good thing .But I do have ir heat gun anyway . We used it when we raised reptiles . It does wonders now that I am older and do not want to bend over the tires as much . Lol

I would recommend firestone ride rite air bags. Which is what I have and love it for my camper and towing, like many have already suggested.
I would also recommend AAA or some kind of road side assistance just in case, hoping you do not not have to use it but it is always a peace of mine that you have them if something would happen, a little bit of insurance.
    -tire patch kit/gauge/portable air compressor
    - portable jumper pack- also good to charge phones...
    -umbrella
-basic first aid kit and meds

    Good spirit and mind!

I am located in a PA and doing a cross country USA trip beginning next month as well.

    Enjoy and be safe!
