Finally getting a chance to paint my IFS skid today. Had just enough primer left to hit the whole thing..waiting for the underside to set while I eat lunch then hit the face of it.

 

Oh boy that picture raised my blood pressure! Not going to miss that white shit...

My two cents on your situation, and obviously I do not know all the details. But I left for the Army 3 days before my 20th birthday. Most of my friends were partying and having a blast and a few had landed decent jobs. When I left, I felt I could literally never go back and not care about it at all. It was about 6-7 years later that I saw myself wanting to be back around family. My wife’s family really, I don’t have much family at all. Sometimes getting some space and taking some risks young really gives you perspective on what is more important to you. Now that I’ve moved back I couldn’t be happier. I talk to about 2 people that I used to be friends with still and for the rest most are still on the same path they were on 8-9 years ago. It’s the ones who left for good, or for a short period of time who seem like they are in a better position now than they were.

Random aside. Is anyone local that needs the EGCS bushing removal / insert tool? I just had my lift done and no longer need it. This is not a for sale post, but I'd be happy to let someone borrow it.

My only caution would be to try to find another job in the engineering world before totally jumping ship. But to each their own and I definitely understand your desire to do so i have many of friends who work at vail

Yea they closed/gated it after some psu kids drove a truck back there, broke through parts of the bridge, bogged the truck to the axles, and smashed the windows out.
