Weird. Our laptop is old (8yrs?) and started as a Win7 64bit machine, upgraded to Win10 64. No problems with that version of TS.

Yup. It should be that easy. The installation took forever, but no problems.

That said. To do the update, all you need is to have TS installed, I believe. Then, the CUW file becomes executable.

If you get TS running, then you can do the customizations and monitoring.

I also found out that you can program new keys as well using this TS as well... You just gotta buy the Toyota ‘H’ key, get it cut, and you can program it yourself using TS; I’ve done two keys myself.

*The two that I programmed have been basic keys only, not the key that has the lock/unlock/panic buttons on it (although I’m sure there’s a way to program those keys/buttons as well).

I saw that in TS but didn't mess around. I was trying (unsuccessfully) to find a way to kill the key in chime.

Someone in one of the recent TPMS threads said that Torque Pro can program sensors so that you can have a second set of tires. I need to dig into that to verify since I don't recall seeing that in the past. Carista will now let you do that if you have an active subscription.

I programmed several H keys with the built-in buttons to my 2nd gen with TS and a cheapo Amazon OBD cord. Worked great, and got rid of the separate remote. You have to use a different process to program the remote button functions of the key. On the 2nd gen, it was some combination of ignition key turns, open-close doors shenanigans.

I had to re-program my key/remote after I got an AJT fob (not sure what I did wrong, as the chip worked after programming, it was just erased). I used the one I didn't break, erased everything but that and then programmed the AJT one again. There is a separate section for programming the remote parts. It took me about 10 minutes to do the whole thing.

Since I had the tactrix cable already, that is what I used, but key programming is not even remotely the concern that a ECU flash is so I wouldn't be concerned at all about a cheaper cable for that.

I took mine in because it was running rough. They ran an update for TSB0125-18. Which is written up as an idling issue. I don't know if it is the same software update as this, but it felt like a new truck on the way home. It might be easier to get them to do something if you mention rough idling. It specifically mentions MT in it.

Good to know. I've noticed rough idle but I've ignored thinking it's still breaking in.

Search for mainmenu.exe in Program files (x86) and replace the file in that location, with the one from the .rar. Then fire it up and enter the key.

He's been down that path. Something weird is up. I asked him to uninstall and search for any remnants left behind just in case, then reinstall.

He was up to the point that it just wouldn't accept the key.
