Did this really not protect anything important? I see how far forward it goes but can’t really tell how far back it goes

It did cover what the stock front skid plate covered so yes it did protect some important stuff. I had it on a ‘15. So on a ‘16 I’d assume it would at least cover the oil filter housing. That being said if you plan on changing your own oil I’d just go with the Toyota aluminum TRD pro skid. It has the access door for the filter housing. I wish I had this feature for sure. Also if you are anywhere where they use lots of salt I’d really recommend aluminum. I’ve fought with powder coated steel and always lose. It seems to find a way to rust no matter what. I did like how the BPF skid looked though and maybe I just got a bad one. Hope this helps.

Yeah I just want solid protection and might as well pay a little more for the aluminum one I live in PNW, some trails get crazy but I’m not going on those. Mostly hiking with my wife nothing extreme. But it does look really good but always functiality over astetics.

It works and makes the manufacturers look tiny!! I have 1 on my Mity T and it works fantastic and looks better then OEM front skid plate. Slitly alittle heaver then the TRD version but will take on a Big bolder rock any day or any items thrown at it!!
