Mine seems like a sleeper. When I jump on it on 95 it gets up and goes...and quick for a truck. Sounds cool too in that power band. I’m an old geezer but still like speed I guess. My taco is my 4th Toyota.

Awesome. North East Ohio riding season literally days from being caput. 45 degree cold days now but holding on for a few more miles.

I have a 2017 TRD OR LB Crew Cab. I ordered it in the summer of 2016 and received it in Sept 2016. This is my fourth Tacoma. I had three previous extra cab 4X4's, 1999, 2004, and a 2011. This is by far the best of them all and I never spent a dime on any of the previous ones beyond maintenance. Close to about 400 thousand miles. When I first got this one I hated the transmission. My first automatic by the way. I would have gotten an manual in this one but it was not offered in the long bed crew cab. Turns out it was low on oil from the factory and needed the computer update. Turns out the darned thing did learn my driving habits after a couple thousand miles and now it shifts very well. I have 24,000 miles and couldn't be happier with overall performance. I am also a pretty picky person in regards to how a vehicle performs. I also drive a 2014 Porsche Cayman S and a 2015 Porsche Macan S. All three vehicles are very different but all do exactly what I expect. Again, couldn't be happier with my 2017 TRD OR.

I go through phases. Loved it right off, then HATED it for the next couple thousand miles and even started listing it to sell it. Then I got happier as I started working on it because car tinkering is my stress relief. But recently, between my clutch being crunchy and stupid (at only 4200 miles), and the bucking and jerking at low RPM and the dealership being shitty about fixing the problem I’m less happy. I’ve learned to mostly ignore 6th gear and rev the hell out of it to make driving better but that now puts me at 17 mpg overall. If you need a truck it’s a decent choice, but overall it depends on your tastes and priorities. I’ll probably last another year in it before it goes.

My Tacoma is, well like my Glock 19
Yea there are prettier guns, more powerful guns, more expensive guns, more accurate guns
But for the price nothing is more reliable and as good of a value for Me as my Glock 19
    Nuff said.

Loving my trd off road with the manual transmission. I have about 3800 miles on it so far hoping this will be one I keep for a long time. I have always wanted a manual truck and I love Toyota’s, my last two vehicles were an 03 and then an 06 4Runner.

This is my 4th Tacoma, I've had one from every generation and this one is the best fucking one yet.

I honestly think the vast majority of "complaints" are just people being whiny, its not just tacomas I feel society in general has become "the YELP generation" where people just feel obligated and empowered to bitch and moan about EVERYTHING. The clearest way to see this is lookup old threads about the same issues and compare to threads today, specifically:

Tacoma thump or thud or clank
    Tacoma lurch
    Even the diff howl
    brake click
    squeaky leaf springs

Years ago the answers to all of those "problems" were almost universally "bro... its a truck not a lexus. Get used to it". Seriously go google old threads its incredible the difference in reactions.
But today, God forbid your leaf spring squeaks or your brakes clank and its "OMG I DON'T DESERVE THIS I SPENT $35K!! WHY WHY WHY?!?! WHAAA WHAA WHAA!!!" :jerkoff:

As for me, after 2 years and 40k miles taking her from the remote beaches in Baja Sur to death valley to the high sierras and everywhere in between my 3rd gen has taken all the abuse I can throw at her, adventure after adventure I love this truck more and more ESPECIALLY since they discontinued inferno as a color :)

Yeah my leafs squeak so I clean them (just like I did on my 1st and 2nd gens). My brakes click, I think I may even have the "diff howl" (to me its called road noise), my truck clanks and lurches and sometimes makes noises... but I don't bitch just like I didn't with my last 3 because they're TRUCKS and I do TRUCK THINGS with them :mudding::burnrubber: :bikewheelie:

    1) The irony of a multi-paragraph post complaining about how people do so much complaining isn’t lost on me.
    2) OP asked, so people answered. Just being honest.
    3) With some work, I’m hoping to get to your level of happiness with my Taco.
