Did you pay full MSRP or more for your truck. If so, then that's your own fault. If not, then consider the discount you got makes up for the loss of your precious apps.

 

You paid for the Entune Hardware, and Toyota paid for the license. They use the cost of the hardware to pay for the software. You own a smart phone or a PC I presume? Do you have a diatribe against Windows or Apple or Samsung every time they update their software on these devices?

This is just like when I loose some of my phone apps due to apple/google pulling the off due to lack of update. Doesn’t seem far off

Read this, it's specifically for the 2017 model and should actually be in your glovebox. Page 12 at the bottom says that Apps and Services are subject to change.

In your vehicle owners manual it refers to this document in the index(Page 6)

For vehicles with Entune Audio Plus or Entune Premium Audio, refer to the “NAVIGATION AND MULTIMEDIA SYSTEM OWNER’S MANUAL” for information regarding the multimedia system.

I did not read all of that "lawyereese" word for word -- but from what I see they "Toyota has their asses covered here"!
It is still a crying shame they (Toyota ) are taking away a feature with no regards to the customers desires/needs. Plus nothing to replace what they are removing.

To be fair, this is probably mostly on Pandora and the other software providers for making the decision to no longer support Entune, and not the other way around. If Toyota has failed, it's in their decision not to include Carplay and Android Auto since this is the standard now. It costs a lot of money to develop software for niche hardware, and Pandora made a financial decision. You should direct your anger at them.

 

First, second, and third world are geopolitical and not economical.

 

So if Toyota will gives you like.....I don’t know..... $2.50 will you move on??
Because that’s what you will get at best.
They aren’t going to give you the app back.

Well made point best of the thread so far. YouTube tv customer here, watched tv via fire stick. When google and Amazon feud erupted we firestick customers lost the priviledge to stream anything youtube, I had no other option then buy an Apple TV. It’s licensing at the end of the day nothing we can do.
