Got mine cause I couldn't drive this anymore.

But yeah, 4wd and ground clearance were contributing factors to my purchase as well.

I prefer smaller vehicles. Wanted a truck for the utility. Off road capability was moderately important. Also the Tacoma is the best looking midsize out there.

Because I want one. No regrets, love the truck and the ability to throw my gear and other random stuff in the bed without getting the elements all over the cab. 4 wheel drive and clearance are a plus.

Was in a loaded up F150 crew lease, lease was nearing an end and I was going through a divorce. Figure if I can cut my payment down to offset a few things going forward, every bit would help. I do too much around the house and lending a hand when I’m needed to not have a truck. Tacoma makes a lot of sense. I live in the buffalo area so we get lots of snow. Need the 4wd around here. Tacoma’s are reliable, and never need nearly the amount of work most other vehicles will need. The resale value played perhaps the biggest role. As I eventually would like to go back to a full sized, but figured if I don’t want better of a vehicle to keep 10 years? (As long as the frame holds up) I know the Tacoma can handle basically everything I’m gonna throw at it, and if it saves me some $$ too even better. I mean I could of gotten a lower trim full sized for around what I paid, but this truck had some things I didn’t want to go without. It may not be the best truck for all my wants/needs but it gets the job done. A vehicle is just a depreciating asset, so getting one that will depreciate a less than average is a good thing. Whether I decide to keep it for another year or 10, I know I shouldn’t (knock on wood) have any major repairs, and it’s going to get me from point A to B.

My "Because" goes back to the early 2000s. Had a buddy in HS with a killer 1st gen and I loved/was jealous of it.
Fast forward to 2007, I went to work for Toyota and picked up a new 08 sport. It was a personal goal of mine to get a new one and I did so at 18.
2 yrs later I was married (I make poor decisions sometimes... alot of times) and I couldn't justify a 550 payment with a family. Sold it for 1000 less than I paid 2 yrs and 20k later.
Forward to today. I'm divorced (sometimes I make good decisions) and I saved up enough to pay cash for an 18 sport.

Idk man... looks like that HHR had some insane ground clearance  at least in the rear. What is that like 3 feet? Hard to best those stats

I bought a '15 that I really loved but got it in my head that I needed a full size truck. After putting a lot of miles from work (temp situation) on my full size, I missed my Tacoma. I was happy with the updates they made and I'll keep it long term this time.

My '94 had some serious cancer, and I just needed to continue having truck for general homeownership.

1 month after I purchased the truck my puppies were born, and my "build" was focused on their needs. The travel trailer just kinda happened, too good a deal to pass up.

Smart. I smoked 2 motors in my 2015 STI. Which is why I own the Tacoma now. I was sick of dumping money into the Subaru. And I needed something to move my dirt bike around.

I bought my tacoma since Toyota's are on every corner of this planet. Africa = toyota pickup, saudi = land cruiser, middle east = hilux. This tacoma is my first truck and I love it.

My first vehicle was a Jeep Wrangler... need I say more?

On my 4th Taco now, never had a problem with one of them while putting 100k on all of them.

Had a purchased-used 2005 Silverado that served well, but it was tired. I would be too after 359K miles.

Kids are out of the house now and a transportation update was in order.

Recent full-size GMC/Chevy trucks are outrageously priced around here. Colorado/Canyon are HOT sellers and are priced accordingly. They also seem to have a non-ending stream of recall issues. Needed something better on gas that could do a little bit of heavy hauling (Usually firewood) during the year.

I've had four previous Toyotas in my life (why can't this engine be as quiet as my old Corolla GT-S?) that were all very solid, reliable machines.

Pricing and 'issues' eliminated the GM options ... Frontier is an outdated POS ... nerver gonna own a Ford ... for a lot of reasons Tacoma was a clear choice. I was shopping for a '16 when my '17 popped up within range of my price. Had remaining warranty on it, so I jumped. Thus far, very happy that I did.
