I have to admit I don't Off-road, if I was I would have bought a Jeep and not a pickup.

Agreed. I'd have gone with an SR had it come with a manual transmission. I honestly dont need any of the extra trd stuff. Yah it looks cool or whatever, but my bank account would look 3 or 4 k better than it does had I gone with an SR.

To each his own my friend. I think the Tacoma is just as capable as a Jeep when it is done up correctly. Minus approach and departure angles. If I were an avid offroading junkie I'd still be in a Tacoma, however it would probably be the Pro

That was my logic. Saved a few grand by going with a sport, and also the MT.

:rofl:it would be fun to live in your world of delusion. For like 10 minutes. How do you plan on shortening the wheelbase on the 3rd gen Tacoma to compare to a wrangler? A pro? I would expect an avid offroading junkie from Idaho to know better. Yikes.

I can appreciate your position. I was thinking (as you mentioned) approach and especially departure angle as well as the straight axle front/rear w/lockers. Jeeps simply aren't as practical as a truck (for me) but excel in their environment.

Nice truck but the predator steps killed the nice set up of this truck.

It would look a bit better with some sliders for sure. Agreed.

They don't look terrible. And if he puts those big ass tires to good use and off roads enough, he won't have a choice about it when they get destroyed.

Wait a minute... what steps do you have on your truck in your profile pic? They look like the same ones, but the photo isn't clear enough to tell lol

True, just wondered if he had the same steps that he didn't like on the other? Although he may have just meant that they didn't go with the look of the other.

His setup is pretty good looking though. Nice truck
