Glorious exhaust system. Unfortunately ovtune left me hanging with disabling the codes. If I'm able to succeed in my fuel pump change Saturday I'll data log and try for a custom tune. Maybe then I'll get the delete.

So command count 1 is normal mode? It doesnt really specify that in the instructions.

I assumed that, but was looking for specifics. Thanks though.

Yeah exactly. In theory it would show 0.0 on your boost gauge at WOT. The equal to losing your supercharger belt.

Again I say theoretically because I have never tried it, so I could be wrong.

Ahh. Maybe someone with UCON could chime in. That's all I know.

Yes. That's what I set it to after I realized it was in Valet mode.

Bypass valve is closed WITHOUT vacuum and OPEN in vacuum.
It is closed when the engine is not running.
To physically disable the bypass valve all you need to do is zip tie it open.

Last night, I was imagining that one could disconnect the vacuum line to the bypass valve for the drag strip days.

Sorry, I set it for #3 on the list, I'm remembering now. #1 would be assumed "normal" mode although you don't need it. Launch mode automatically resets to normal after you take off, and #3 resets valet. So you'd never actually need to push the pedal once. And maybe it doesn't actually do anything.

Then you'd be racing without boost!

I thought the valve was closed when the line sees atmospheric pressure.

Closed with nothing hooked to it and closed with boost. Vacuum opens it. Works like my old diaphragm type recirculating valve.

That's what I thought. Although there could be other issues with leaving the valve closed for racing. Surging maybe? I don't really know.

Surging does not cause any issues on a turbo or rotrex (centrifugal blower) when you need remove your bypass/blowoff valve for the purpose of testing. Long term tho, the unreleased pressure will wear on the bearings. With the roots, I am not sure how it tolerates the pressure compared to the others mentioned.

    I talked about it below.

Very nice. Don't forget to change that pulley out with your stock one! Make sure the belt lines up prior to slapping it on and running it!

The obvious mentions are increased under hood temps due to constant boost production, reduced fuel economy and excessive wear on the bearings due to increased load being placed on them. There will be no surging, however.

So, based on @loginfailed's correspondence with me about my driveline vibe, I've been in contact with Tom Woods about a new one-piece driveshaft with a double-cardan at the input side. I asked what the maximum rpm of the driveshaft might be because I might engage in some "spirited driving". Here is the note I got back:

"Assuming we build the drive shaft on a 4” tube diameter, which should not be a problem with the lift you have, a safe operating speed of the drive shaft is up to about 4,200 RPM. You can determine the drive shaft speed at 60 MPH with the formula below. If you want to know how fast it is turning at 75 MPH, add another 25% to your final number, To calculate at 90 MPH, add 50%

Here is the formula. 20,168 divided by the tire diameter, then multiply by the differential gear ratio. For example: 20,168 / tire diameter of 35” = 576.23. If you have a 4.1 differential gear ratio, the drive shaft RPM, at 60 MPH, would be 2,362. At 90 MPH. the drive shaft RPM would be 3,543 Rpm."

So I did some quick math of my own. The multiplier he uses is just the ratio of the new speed to 60 mph. 90/60 = 1.5. I wanted to see something greater than 90 mph so I used 120 mph which would be a ratio of 2.0.

I, like most of us, have 3.70 gears. I have 285 tires which are almost 33". That math says 20,168/33*3.7*2=4522 which is greater than 4200. Sooo, maybe this isn't the answer for me. Thoughts?

I was surprised to find during my dyno the TRD tune was slightly lean for me too on a 2.7 pulley
