Stock Head unit Apple car play

hello,
So there was a thread but I can’t find it on the module to add Apple car play to the stock head unit. I got in contact with the company and delivered it would be 400 which is cheaper then the after market one I was going to buy while not having to deal with the look of a dash kit. Has anyone used one of these yet?

For that money I'd rather just spend a little more and buy a new head unit that doesn't suck. The outputs on this thing are dirty as hell and even a cheap Pioneer or similar would sound a boatload better.

 

I agree and wireless car play is a big plus but I really hate the look of dash kits

 

Aftermarket dash units remind me of high school.

Looks like a good solution. But for 400 bucks? Naw. I’ll wait. Besides, it looks like it’s not wireless and he said no iOS 12. That means it won’t support any apps other than what you get stock. But hey, if I had 400 to blow, I’d try it out.

 

Remember when you can actually pull them off with uninstalling it? So people wouldn't break in and try to steal it.

The dash kits aren't terrible but yeah, it's not ideal. The benefit to me is native support - especially when bringing up "NV Connect" on Google returns just about zilch.

The way I see it, I'm sacrificing function or fashion and fashion isn't a bit enough sacrifice in this case for me to care about it.

Yeah that might be legit but there's no way I'd take a chance on a $400 product from some Korean site where you're probably not getting great after-sale support. There is nothing on the internet about these that I can find through Google so that's a no for me.

 

On the pioneer decks they have wireless but I can’t stand dash kits

 

That’s why I am hoping someone here has done it and I could get some advice.

 

Yeah I mean the stock HU sucks. But it blends in perfectly with the interior. I had a rental with CarPlay and the integration with the phone was phenomal.
