If you don't see deer on some medium ( game cam, tracks, or in person) there is a good chance that one young buck is scraping the hell out of everything. The young 4 and 6 pointers are far more aggressive on trees in my experience.

Lol. This happened to me last Sunday with an nice bodied Axis :anonymous:

He walked into the brush as soon as I lifted my nose out of my phone. I assume he was under my feeder for at least 5 minutes.

Im thinking about going back and putting up a game camera. I did see some regular sized tracks in one scrape. Saw what looked to be slip marks in the soft dirt of a good sized buck. I think something took off in the brush but the bad part there is you cant see much further than 20yds in most parts of it. It does open to a clearing but I didnt see anything bolting down hill.

Is medrare any better? (To be honest I think it did taste better but it had an additional 24 hour to marinade)

was that a backstrap? I cut mine a little thinner. I like a proper med-rare. My wife doesnt like to see pink in the meat. but she doesnt eat much red meat anymore, so more backstraps for me :)

Going to hit the woods tomorrow morning. I have a wedding that I have to attend on Saturday but that night it'll get in the 20's :woot:so I'll be hunting Sunday morning. Hoping I'll be able to get in the woods for a am and pm hunt on Monday as well :D

The land hasn't been hunted in over two weeks so they should be doing deer things (rut) and not had any pressure.

Yes it was. That was from the, uh not blade end; down near the pelvis so they are just bigger steaks because the muscle is bigger there to start with... Can I coin the bama strip as a name for that?
