I'm with you on the drop bracket and body lift...no thank you.

My truck has an auto trans so I'm leaning more and more towards 5.29s and 295's as my final setup.

I am too and went 456 with 33s. Im pretty happy with my set up. If I ever went the 35 route id probably just go 488, but like @Blackdawg said, the 33s get you places. I havent had them stop me yet. Not saying I wouldnt want an additional 1” of clearance one of these days. But for now Im pretty dam happy.

It was recommended to me by @Speedytech7 - I'm looking over the various options to make it easier for my truck to tow my enclosed trailer long distances and gain some sort of performance back during normal driving conditions. I do have some armor for the truck, however I haven't had the chance to install it yet. My tires aren't as big as most people (32's), but they're much bigger than what the truck had stock.

I don't plan on swapping the ring and pinion myself, that's something I'd prefer to leave to the professionals. I contacted ZUK Gear Installs in Arizona, waiting on a quote for them. I was told it's cheaper than ECGS.

I'm all ears for recommendations on how to make it easier for my truck to move, tow, and haul. My next best option is supercharging, however, with the mods I'd have to do to get it to work properly, I'm looking at $3-4k. At that point I'd rather just buy a wrecked truck off Copart and swap the 5VZ.

If I could redo my decision I probably woulda gone 4.88, but the 4.56 seems to be doing its thing just fine.

I was set onn 4.88s lol but now these guys got me thinking about 5.29s. wish there was something in the middle. I thought 5.13 was a gears ratio. guess not for our trucks?

Yeah im an auto so maybe that has something to do with it. But do what you want. Lower gears will help a lot when going slow and pulling weight.

I know the A340F is a hungry hungry inefficient beast that produces nothing but heat, but I like the Automatic. I don't off-road much, and I use it to commute. If I wanted a manual, I'd get a sports car.

Regearing is the way to go for that. Just be ready for higher rpms with 4.88s. If you have no plans to go to a bigger tire at all, I might say 4.56 would be fine. But you're a 4 banger and an auto. So 4.88 will be good.

Mikes truck not my single cab. Gross weight for a single with v6 is like 3200ish I think..

If you're breaking 6000lbs thats crazy. Every time we've done scales no one (other than my dad) has broken 6k lbs. Frank was 5850 last I did him.

    they are heavy indeed.

Gross weight for an extended cab is like 4200ish?? maybe? Idk I can't remember. Most rigs are well into 5000lbs with full armor.

I'm debating lockers since I am already spending money on swapping gears out, but truth be told like most of this truck I don't use it. I converted my truck to 4WD in December of 2017, and the first time I truly used it off-road was last week at Hollister Hills.

Thats what I thought, and what I found online. I was surprised to see the gross weight on the sticker on my door frame claim 5100lbs
