I hate the pull out parking brake on my 5 speed... why couldn't they just put a normal pullup parking brake?

I can live with it (obviously) but I would prefer it the other way

They figured out how to do it in the Hilux. I really like the Hilux interior.

Your build shows grey seats. I mean full black, not just dash. I got grey leather, wish it was black along with carpet too. FYI, like the tie down rings on truck bed you put.

O'yeah, the front mudflaps that break off too. WTF!

Is there any DIY way to make it look similar to the Hilux interior? At least hand-brake wise?

    no sunroof
don't like power to fuel economy
    too much plastic type interior
seats (material and lack of options)
    ugly stock head unit
mostly just the huge lack of optional features.
However I do like how many mod options there are for these trucks.

I would still choose this over any other mid size, but I do want to sell for a full size asap.

went to Amsoil 5W - 20 oil and the ticking is just about gone. So it would appear to be the hydraulic lifters.

I test drove a 2011 ford superduty with the new ford-made 6.7 litre diesel (F250) and that truck was awesome. My taco compared to that truck is just irrelevant. Toyota could make these tacoma a lot better but they just won't do it. But for a light-duty truck, my taco is a pretty good truck. Just not anywhere near as good as they could be.

Or they used to be. They were built to last. My '08 is complete rattle trap after just two years. Sounds like it is falling apart on anything worse than a minor bump. Soo sad.

No mileage computer, no auto headlights. Yeah, I know you can leave them on, but I don't like running them when I don't need 'em.

After 25000 miles, really not bothered by much of anything. The truck is marketed as a light-duty truck and as such it performs as advertised. My truck is running sweet. For what it won't do, I will have to get a heavier-duty truck. No rattles or any other problems. The one thing that is a bummer is the gas mileage. Should not have had to spend several thousand to fix what was wrong with it; but now that it is done the truck is running great. Will I buy another Tacoma? No. This is my fourth taco and toyota is just drifting too far away from what made the tacoma such a good truck originally.

What do you mean by drift away from what the TACO was originally? Your comment was very interesting to me! (Not being a smart ass it just interest me by what you meant--all your other comments I understand and agree with 100%. I believe the drifting away from the gas mileage has/will hurt them.)
