Yeah, the *****-04310 is what I picked up. According to my ultra Guage it runs identical to my original ECM *****-04220. It has identical fuel trims under similar conditions and pulls the same timing under similar conditions. As far as I'm able to monitor, there are no differences in how they operate. How does yours work with the SC?

Side note, the bone yard I got this ECM from said there was another '97 part number, unfortunately I didn't write down what it is.

I wonder how hard it would really be to splice the newer ends on to the 95-97 harness. The 98-00 ECM controls all the same things, correct? Just different pin outs?

    probably the 04410.

Mine runs okay after I pulled the URD kit. But still not great. Pings under load. Im sure a meth kit would solve that which is my next move. I also have a 2.1'' pulley.

There must be a simple solution here. Maybe @1997tacomav6 has a part number different from what I'm aware of. Who else has a functional SC on the 97 platform? @kigmob anyone else?

I talked to a dude that had similar problems and swapped ECUs. He swapped to the 04310 number and it worked great. So not sure.

Let me go check the part number on mine. I’ve never had issues with the SC. I still get some light ping but I’ve learned to drive around it.

I’m about to pull the trigger on this mod but I’m nervous it might throw something off with the ecu and trims. I’ll still probably try it though.

This will be handy if both of you can show your ECU PN's. Might clear up a lot of questions and frustration potentially.

Can I snap a pic of the PN without touching the ecu? I have all my 7th injector connections stuffed up in there and I’d hate to pull it all out and mess up a connection lol.

    damn.

No its on top of the ECU. You have to unbolt it at least and angle it down.

    Theres hope still:)
My truck has an EGR system, so its a California emissions, has 2004 injectors
that are just a bit larger than 1997 injectors.
Methanol injected for about 40,000 miles
    10 pounds of boost
    2" pulley
    Zero ping
    Volvo mod done in March
Maybe 12,000 -15,000 miles on the mod with zero problems

So my original PN ECU IS 89661 04300

So we have different ecus. Must have to do with the egr and emissions stuff you have. Mines non egr. Curious what @Blackdawg gathered from his research as far the 04300 ecu and boost. Obviously we know it works because your truck runs fine with boost.

To be honest my truck has never run so well as it does right now with my mods and it loves the higher RPM range for power
