I've heard mostly bad reviews on their Badlands winches, I would save up for a Warn or Smittybilt if you wanted something not as pricey as Warn.

Also heard sketchy reviews about their brand of farm jack/hi-lift

My Harbor freight is in the hood so Ill hit Northern tool first for most things. That said, I own and like their impact sockets, 3 jaw puller, 3 ton jack, various smaller air tools (dont use them much), benchtop drill press, impact driver bits, and a 4 lb hammer. That all gets used pretty hard throughout the years Ive had them. My goto for ratchets is Proto/Blackhawk, regular sockets I have some Klutch and Gearwrench, all wrenches are gearwrench. Power tools are a mix of Milwaukee, ryobi, skil, porter cable. I like my Aircat impact gun, craftsman air ratchet. Hobart/miller/radnor for welding stuff.

All the reviews I’ve read said they’re just slow, but you make a point

The only harbor freight tool I’ve ever broken was their $0.99 plastic wire brushes.

Only good reviews I've seen of them are from people that have only used it once or twice, but long term use they don't seem to hold up.

I bought a bag of 100 zip ties from them and every single one was so brittle that it snapped in half if you bent it at all. I was pissed, lol. Seemed to be a fluke though because I've bought more since then and they've been fine.

One time I bought a HF socket to bear in to change unjoints, it hasn’t broke.

Theyve really changed within the past 3 years or so. Unveiling new brands and such, new Quinn sockets came out within the past few weeks. Supposedly the Vulcan welders are pretty good, but I'm a Miller/hobart fanboi so ill never own one.

Maybe for an ATV, I wouldn't buy one for a truck. You can get a Superwinch LP8500 (real reliable brand) for $250 on discount pretty regularly.

Seems.like they're really trying to improve their welder line. Aside from the Vulcan line, they just realesed another line called Titanium or something, they're green.

My favorite is their new air tools, they're capitalizing off of the reputation of the old Milton brand (made in USA and still around) by stealing the tool design and packaging and calling it a Merlin.

Yeah & their Merlin line is not cheap either (well not inexpensive for HF), the 20% coupon don't work for their "higher" end lines. They been copying a whole lot of stuff in the past years, Snap on, Milwaukee, Dewalt.

But I will say, their top end line of US General tool boxes & tool carts are actually pretty nice. Coming out in a variety of colors now. I have one of their tool carts, no complaints.

Heck my very first lathe was from HF.

I have that tool cart, I actually need to get rid of it to make room for a parts washer, I use my big Milwaukee box nowadays

Sadly mine has turned into a catch all. Only one drawer has my old air tools in it. The rest is just materials & supplies.

Mine is the same, mostly tools I don't use much and random garage garbage. I should clean that later today and see if my dad wants it.

Solid deal for that plus the TRD 7th injector & boost gauge (both not available anymore) but it sounds like it probably needs a rebuild if it has 100k+ miles on it. He doesn't really clarify on that.
