Also if anyone is saying that 0062-18 is just for WOT you're flat out wrong. All the 2019's came with this update built in. It totally changes how the torque converter locks up when changing gears and 4D driving maps. Essentially it's a bandaid re-write of the ECU and TCU that Toyota quietly slipped into a TSB"Fix for WOT". And @Tacoma Tough Dude could very well argue that point in court.

I notice no difference with the shifting. I do notice the difference that my truck doesn't stumble off the line.

Got a link to any info about changes to the converter or such? TSB does not make mention of any of this.

That might work to some degree when doing over 70 on the highway but what about when I'm in town doing no more that 45? I can tell you first hand this does not work. In S5 it shifts all over the place and will even shift into 5th at 35 mph then to 3rd...wait thats not the right gear let's try 4th and on and on. You're right ETC mode helps about 5% by holding gears longer but will eventually shift all the way to whatever gear you have it set to and then it's back to its typical bogged down feel. My Tundra has two overdrive gears and it does not act like this. Anyone brushing this off as normal is fooling them selves or has never driven a 2018 AT Tacoma for any length of time. It's a known issue and a total fail by Toyota. Thankfully OV Tune has fixed this. Toyota should be thanking the creator for making the tacoma enjoyable to drive.

I won't do the digging but it's one of the reasons why ovtune 1.05 release is so late. There was a ton packed into the TSB. It was in one of ovtunes posts in the alpha thread.

This has nothing to do with my desire to sue anybody. It’s a completely ridiculous disclaimer that shifts 100% of the liability to the consumer for using the product in the way it was designed.

Imagine getting a filling at your dentist and being told that it’s for liquids only and was not meant to chew food. (But don’t worry, it will work fine on food, it’s just so they don’t get sued.)

There are much better ways to write a disclaimer that limits liability without making the consumer complicit in immediate violation of terms to do it.

I’m a huge fan of the 1.04R tune on top of the TSB update.

Shout Out to Dave Edwards Toyota in Spartanburg, SC. In for a 50k service and mentioned the TSB. Service guy found it and said "we'll take care of it".

I wasn't going to have it done, because I don't drive around in D, but since they offered . . . This place has always been great.

Don't forget T-SB-0125-18, but it also does not mention shifting.

TSB is to fix stumble. You do not have stumble. You do not need TSB.

fanboy of what? If it's a legitimate discussion then email OV instead of looking for a customer to answer a legal question. If it concerns you that much then don't get it. simple.
Your analogy of dental work.... If you got a filling and it was said that it was for liquids only and after a year and a half not one single person that we know of has been left high and dry with a jacked up filling from eating food then I'd be comfortable eating food with it.
Don't know if you know how a tune works but I've never seen a tune get messed up from driving anywhere except underwater. It's a tune not a physical thing that can break on you. you upload it and it works. If you have a problem then you flash back and let Matt know and he corrects it. No one has had damage from installing the tune on their vehicle and in fact the tune is much better on the truck than the stock tune is so not only do you get better gas mileage, better performance and a better driving experience all around but you may also get better longevity outt your truck too.
Call it being a fanboy if you want but the simple fact is that the tune works and works damn well and has saved many people from trading their truck in.
It was an option offered to you, you find the terms unacceptable so go figure out a different answer to your problem instead of crying about some legal issue that has affected literally no one in a year and a half.

Just wanted to chime in real quick. It's been about 6k miles since I got this done and I haven't pressed ECT once since I got it done. I have a 2016 SR5 4x2.
In my case I immediately noticed the difference in the truck and compared to how miserable the drive was before, I love it.
