    Taht is crazy. Even in coloraCo 3rd gen 4runners are very affordable. 7k around here they go for half that

    Yeah..should have grabbed that one..oh well.

    That varies a lot I think. Seen them as high as 14-15k and as low as 6k.

    Not sure why.

    haha I've thought of that. Would make my commute even more fun. Certainly help with the passing although it's pretty quick as is. Need to get a new clutch first.

    But also, its a 95. So boost would not go over well. Need a different ECU to make it work. And haven't had great luck with that as it is anyways.

    far as I know all the lines are there from the intake tube.

    Id check the emissions box in the bay. Mine makes weird noises all the time in Frank.

    Doesn't have to do with turning.

    There's a screen in the reservoir that can easily get clogged. The cold fluid trying to go through it causes cavitation and a whine.

    Next time you start it, just pull the cap and look for a bunch of bubbles or frothing.

    Wind whistling... Idler pulleys can make that noise infact my cruiser does it regularly, and I'm just too lazy to change it out

    Do you have a PS belt idler. Bearings can make all sorts of weird noises when they die

    only the AC has an idler. The others use the water pump for a third contact point.

    then it would cycle with the fan though not impossible either. Think that would be pretty obvious with the hood open

    lol i wasn't talking about the timing belt. That's very different in my book that the exposed belts and pulleys. Not typical of those to go out.

    If you open the hood right now, with the ENGINE OFF , does the fan spin freely if tou twirl it by had?

    The clutch is activated by an oil. The hotter it gets then it runs to the outside causing it to lock up and spin the fan. As it cools the oil moves back in and the connection is lost.

    Ah yes, sorry I meant the fan.

    The alternator belt is what spins the fan. It has 3 points. Crank, fan, alt. Same for the PS Crank, fan, Alt.

    Most belts in more modern cars (before serpentine belts) will have 3 points of contact. It merits a better belt tension than just 2 points

    And yeah the AC one is about 1'' smaller.

    Yes, it always is spinning when the engine is running but it should not be solid as you described until the temps in the shaft get very hot (as monte described). In theory, when its cold and spinning, you could stop it (don't try) because it is not locked up solid (yes, even though it is spinning).
