Is it Friday yet? Kid was turning right out of a parking lot and into traffic. The right lane had stopped and someone let him out but he decided to cross the right lane and into the left lane which was moving normally and he never saw me. Direct hit to my rear passenger side wheel and spun me around sideways pretty good. Hoping my frame isn’t torqued.

So I’m picking up my sliders from eddy on Saturday. I wanna get them put on asap. What’s everybody spraying these things with? Line-x? Rattle can? Bed liner?

I may try the spray on bed liner. But I know it doesn’t stick without a lot of prep. I have access to an automotive spray gun and air, would some black tractor paint or something similar out of a spray gun work better?

I don't know if mine were powder coated originally or not they were @HrBrad8 old ones. but they are getting touched up with rattle cans. I am a fan of rattle can on my armor just for ease of touching up. But Line-x is extremely tough and holds up to a ton of abuse. I have seen the bumper that was on Brad's truck and the very minor IMO chipping or pealing of the line-x. Now that was after some hard use and hard hits.

Solid coat of self etching primer and layers of rattle can semi-gloss. Anything else is a waste of money if you actually use the sliders, IMO.

I wonder what 2-3 coats of spray on bedliner would look like.

Rustoleum is what I went with.
Prepped with 60 grit sandpaper and 3 coats of primer.

Acetone also works really well. I would scuff the surface first then use a cleaner to get all the dust and stuff off. I use scotch pads and then acetone with the blue lint free shop towels works really well.

I want that rear axle assembly Think they'd let you test drive it for a couple days and we could swap axles :anonymous:

I was more worried about getting home than anything. I knew once I got home and I could figure out logistics that I could get back on the road again quickly just stressful being almost 500 miles from home trying to figure things out. Side note buddy got his gooseneck and F350 up and running good said next time let him know and he'd come get me. I laughed and said even if it'd be 20hrs of driving.

Just as an FYI the turd gens with the e-locker or non elocker manuals have a 8.8" ring gear. Hence why I want one. They beefed up the rear assembly for those 2 finally now if they only did it across the board.
