If you pay more then $20-$30 for this kit, you're wasting money. That is roughly $2 in plastic for all the emblems.

Great info about plasti dip! I’ve always thought that this product will be bad for your paint down the road as “being a spray paint”in terms. But according to videos I have seened so far, people are making reviews after 4 years on wheels, bumpers, side mirrors etc and the thing comes off like nothing and protects the paint as well. Pretty remarkable stuff for sure!

I used it to spray my emblems to see how they would look before I spent the money for the overlays. The look of the Plasti-dip was good but I personally did not like washing my truck near the badges as the surface of the dip was really grabby making it difficult to wash around. The overlays were well worth the money IMHO.

Just picked up my new 2019 Quicksand this afternoon. My dealer had already installed the OEM Toyota emblem overlays. I didn’t want them so they didn’t make me pay for them, but I have to say after picking up the truck and seeing them in person I really like them!

They are nice and thin.....not bulky or block like at all and look to sit just barely off the paint (so hopefully won’t scratch the paint around the emblem). I tried to take a few pictures of this. Dealer was asking $200 for all the black out overlays and black tailgate inserts. I have to admit they look awesome and since they were thrown into my deal for free I can’t beat that. Think I am going to leave them on cause I like the lack of chrome on the quicksand. The black tan combo just does it for me. Anyway here are the pics....

One of the guys in my band has plasti dipped his civic emblems and hubcaps. It looked great for a few months, and then it didn't. The constant potential upkeep is enough to make me go with the overlays and tailgate insert kit. I think it was well worth the money, too. $130 isn't shit.

According to what i have read is that you need to re-coat in the application process. If you only put one to two coats, it wont work. Reading the instructions is best.

Alright then... Since mine is Offroad, i’ll have no use for 4 of the emblem covers (2x Lmt and 2x SR). At $135 these sure are pricy so might just wait for Black Friday for seller’s or some eBay discounts.

Yes, you got an even better deal. To me the eBay coupon makes the price more tolerable but I’d still buy them again. They make a huge difference and in my area they charge about $300 as an option for them so I didn’t mind dropping the $135 and then selling off about $70 or so to offset the price.

How much is the whole set at local dealership? Im looking for the tailgate inserts, 2 tacoma badge, and V6 badge. Is this the best route to go? Or are there aftermarket overlays? Not really a fan of plastidip
