:annoyed: I was tilting the camera up, but I didn't like the way the "Night Landscape" mode was shooting. That's when I switched to the cell phone.

    Thanks for the encouragement, Murph!

Why portrait? I thought I wanted to capture as much of the sky as possible?

Ok. I guess I had it backwards.

:anonymous: And I just realized that it's called "Landscape" because....it captures more land scape.:homer:

That's the beauty of a DSLR you don't need a "Night Landscape" mode. Auto screws up more photo's than it helps. Put a DSLR in manual and go at it. Then you make it what you want according to how you set it.

I would if I had a DSLR. My mother has one, but she lives in KY and isn't likely to give it to me. I do want a DSLR, maybe I should put that in my TWSS wishlist...

I just looked at my phone's "Pro" settings again to see what I used for the picture. ISO 200, aperture at 1/10, WB at 4800K. I would imagine that, had I played around a bit more, I would have gotten an even better photo. But, I felt the light was fading too quick.

How have you liked that one? I’ve heard both sides on how it was and wasn’t a upgrade to the D700. I’ve heard it’s pretty decent in low light.

Also curious about this, although I haven't heard any bad things at all about the D750.

I'm also wondering what is the advantage of this?:

Never used a d700 so cant comment on the upgrade part but have zero complaints about the 750 best full frame at that price point imo.

Are you asking the advantage of having a d3300 and d750? Well having two set ups when shooting events or weddings is nice can get away with using prime lenses and not having to swap glass so much. Actually just recently got rid of the d3300 to someone that wanted to get in to photography which is nice since i get to play with the d750 more, but im least likely to take it everywhere like i did the d3300. Its like having a beater for a daily driver and a nice weekend ride if that makes sense. Eventually want to move to the nikon mirrorless down the road but i dont think id ever get rid of the d750

I just picked up the newer version D3500 from Costco for $499 with two kit lenses. Also grabbed a 35mm f1.8 prime lense and it’s been great to learn on. My father in law shoots a D750 and it’s very nice, but I’m nowhere near ready for that just yet. Couple shots with the new prime lense:
