No, you don't have to flash back to stock first. After you get the TSB you can request 1.04R from Mat, and hopefully 1.05 will be out shortly.

Those that oppose this are right. That's a horrible practice that will eventually damage the carbon canister and cause a check engine light. Which will eventually cost more money to fix. Not sure getting 15-30 more miles per fill up is worth it. Plus you this will most likely decrease the life of your fuel pump which is submersed in fuel to help it stay cool.

 

I recommend you don’t ever lift your truck. The change in numbers will make you nuts

 

I’ve had stumble since new, flashed tsb to 04b04, then 104r and still have stumble at 1500 rpm to 2000 rpm accelerating from a stop.

 

did you test 04b04?

 

I had a revtech on my first 17 taco. It was pretty good and cheap. If you can do the work yourself the its less that 500 for the parts and alignment.

 

Filled up to 22... It was all the way empty.

 

Wtf, your gas is cheap! I was 5 miles to empty, went to the shell station with 93, took all $60 and could have taken more.

 

Yeah my bad it got a Lil off topic but tire size/lift and engine mods should be talked about in my opinion. This thread is the reason I shelled out 770 dollars on a truck I just paid 41k for. And I was curious about anyone running the tune on 35s for sure. You realize how many tunes this thread alone sells? Its one of the first results when you search ovtune on google and the only one that comes up when you google 2016 tacoma ecu,tune,reflash ect. And if It sold me then I'll bet there's hundreds more. On 35s I was at 11mpg and it literally jumped 3 mpg in the first 100 miles. If more people would post about their gains on their setups I'm sure there wouldn't be so many people on edge about ordering Cus for once what seemed like it was too good to be true was actually true the tune works and was more than I imagined and I'm only on 1.04r

Try driving on the TSB for a bit before immediately flashing 1.04r

I don’t get the stumble on the TSB but it is present on 1.04r - of course you give up some ponies but as of now the TSB is the smoothest running calibration available for MY truck until 1.05 drops

 

Still, 87 here is right around $3. 93 is the better part of $4.

 

What's the TSB number that will take me from 04B02 to 04B04? My dealership has been pretty good when it comes to TSB when I show up with the number and tell them that I want it done.

 

I am lifted with weight, but I will try it. The 1.04r files are just for flashing the ECU right? Not the TCU?
