Good morning. 20 with an inch of new white chit. Not ready for this. Low teens tonight. Leaves still in yard.

Bright side is your almost a short timer. Be a 3 digit midget before you know it. Good luck with the surgery and also during the time leading up to it. Yeah getting old is not for sissies but I keep telling myself it is worth it. Hope the pain goes away and stays away for you that constant pain is the worst part to me anymore.

Chris hard for me to even say anything about any of that. Says a lot about you. Hate what happened but also so glad you didn't take the carpool in. Make sure you hug a loved one too. And have no doubt you will shake someones hand today.

Yep thin wire, always called them barn or camp traps. Need to set mine up in the garage yet I even take a piece of scrap wood and place it so they can walk the plank up to the wire. I do hate opening the door to the garage in the morning and hear the little bastards scraping on the sides of the bucket to get out. Must be getting soft as I get older. Pellet pistol puts an end to that sound quick enough.

Chunky here too. With half a peanut stuck to it. The extra weight makes the pan trip just a bit easier and more sensitive. My theory anyhow. I keep one back behind the dog food container and it has my highest hit rate. Still find pieces of dog food stashed throughout the house from time to time. But I'll take field mouse in the country over cockroaches in the city any day.

Good morning. We decide whether or not to work Saturday this afternoon. I'd rather not and it just occured to me that this is a long weekend. I'm saying no to tomorrow. We can't have the weekend/holiday traffic mixed in with a bunch of dump trucks all trying to converge on the same location at the same time. Thanks for helping me solve another problem guys! You're the best!

    Crisp Fall morning here today.

    fall morning.jpg

Down to 19° now and still dropping. Not sure will be able to get the Ranger back out this year with the dog, snow gets too deep he can't run in the woods very well. Not going to unpack it yet though just in case.

Yep just some thin bare copper wire. Drill a hole in the bottom of the can and run it through it and the can opening. Doesn't spin perfectly round but doesn't have to, just enough to throw them off balance into the water.

My weekend has begun.... quietly , I hope..

Definitely a "bad week" here in the "50's world".... My son lost his father-in-law yesterday afternoon and his wife is taking it very hard.....

This is what sucks about parenting, we can not "hurt" for them.... just be the shoulder to lean on...

The small plank is just so they can get to the edge of the bucket where the wire is , center the can so they can't stretch to it.

Hi. I’m a ways from there but thanks for asking. There have been about a half dozen people at my job that have been evacuated.
