So I got my Kings with JBA uppers installed a couple of weeks ago. Sunday was my first real ride on them. Overall they did great. I have one concern about something I heard though. It sounded like a thump, not a clunk like metal on metal or anything, just a thump when a tire would come off a rock. I have never had an IFS setup so I am less familiar with the noises I might hear. I did have the compression adjusters set to 5 of 30. I am still learning what different adjustments make to the ride but I thought for a trail ride, it would be a good idea to have them set kind of low.

    Thanks all for the help

    Plethora of "useless" shit
I have this as well. No expert on suspension here, but two things can cause it. One that I know and the other I have been told.

My UCA's where hitting the coils at full droop causing a bang/thump sound, so I had to rotate the coils a bit. I recall we checked this on yours when we did the install and the JBA's had plenty of clearance so I would assume this is not your issue.

With the Kings setup as extended travel a rubber bumper is removed and at full droop causes the thump noise since there is no cushion to absorb the rapid impact.

My Icons did not do this, but I believe they have a washer setup of sorts that acts as a spring during that droop impact. Plus the rebound speed i believe is slowed down, which should slow down the droop impact.

I talked to Ben yesterday from Filthy Motorsports and he said that it is likely the shock maxing out its down travel as it comes off the rock. He said that Kings are "designed" to not need limiting straps as they have rubber inside them that prevents metal to metal contact when this happens. He gave me a few things to test out slash check for next time I wheel, but it seems like that is going to be a while without the smoothness of snow padding the trail.

I still feel good about all my clearances in there. Unfortunately, by the time we got to dry ground that day we were kind of racing to get off the mtn before what seemed like a storm was rolling in. Ill try it out again soon and report back.
