Thanks! Rather than hack this ops lift thread with pics, feel free to check out my build thread and media pages. No cover, not my style; I worked with welding dude who tweaked one of his standard bars to my specs. Again details in my thread but happy to answer questions.

I'm running 265/75/16 with 0 OS wheels on stock suspension and think it looks beefy enough but ultimately it's your truck and decision

Agree ditch the air damn and put on some 265/70/R17's makes a huge difference. Toyo Open Country AT 2's LT265/70/R17 for me. + 1 inch over stock and a beefier stance
    T4R matte black wheels

If you just want it to look "beefier" or tougher and don't necessarily want to lift it, then the best option would be wheels and tires. Leave the suspension stock. Aftermarket wheels with greater negative offset (sticks out of the fender more giving a wider stance) and more aggressive tread tires (don't even have to be bigger but +5 on the ratio number, i.e. 65 to 70) will still fit without rubbing and have almost zero negative effect on mpg and ride quality. Wheels and tires are more than enough to change the whole look of a truck or any vehicle for that matter.

Please allow me to clarify. You will absolutely not loose any quality using a spacer as long as it is a top plate spacer. the spacers that install between the shock and the top hat of the shock are the ones that cause this issue.

The next question you need to ask yourself is if you are happy with the way the truck rides now. if so spacers are the way to go. in the rear i would not go more than 1" and in the front not more than 2" max as you will only have 1/2 an inch of shock compression left fully compressed. If used a 1.5" spacer in the front and have zero issues with the needle bearing. 2" and you risk the steering wandering alot and it will come down to the alignment at this point and you might have to get UCA's . Your best bet is to get a lifetime alignment at Firestone so that if you have to make a change you wont have to pay for another alignment.

if you do not like the way the suspension handles or wish for more than what stock provided absolutely start looking for a new suspension setup.

This is correct and how i started... most tires in this size will give you a 1/2" lift.... I do know for a fact that the Firestone destination AT will give you 3/4"

I went with 16x8 wheels with 0 offset and 265 75 16 tires. Totally stock off road suspension and zero rub anywhere even when off roading. My truck didn’t come with mud flaps so don’t know if they would have rubbed. Last couple pics I tried to get it to rub. Not saying it never will, but I couldn’t get it to the couple times I’ve had it out so far.

Ome lifts are extremely capable. They are more for crawling over obstacles though. The external bypass stuff is only for blasting across stuff at high speed and fine tuning dampening which few often use . It seems more like wheelhouse bling around here.
