Axle shim or center bearing drop shim? I used the center bearing drop shim supplied with the kit, no vibration. My truck is a DCSB and I installed the complete medium pack.

Axle shims. I have the carrier drop kit on with my aal and does vibe a lil around 25-30 under hard acceleration, so that’s why I’m wondering if installing the shims with the pack to do it in one shot

I just got a new HD pack from ARB here in WA under warranty because I complained about the squeaks on my old pack.
I'm on the fence about just refurbishing my old ones which was my original plan and selling the new ones

Which one of you guys has experience going from the old CS047 to the new HD pack?

Is anyone running these on a 3rd gen with the stock OR Bilsteins? I can't seem to find collapsed/extended lengths of the stock TRD OR shock. I know it's not ideal but it would be temporary. My origonal plan was progressive AAL and new shocks but if I can wait on the shocks, I can spring(;)) for the whole leaf pack.

It's gonna destroy the shocks real quick and you will also need longer brakes lines

Please elaborate on destroying the shocks. As far as brake lines, there are entire pages of this thread with people talking about the factory lines working with even longer shocks and these leaf packs.

You’ll be fine with the stock shocks if you aren’t doing much off-roading that requires full droop.

Well yeah if you stay on decent pavement. The shocks just don't have enough travel. It's not like anyone gives you money for stock shocks though so might as well run them into the ground until you can afford some that match decently

That’s what I’m thinking. But even 5100s are only rated at 0-1” and people run them.

I’ve heard this before, but I’ve yet to find any details of the collapsed/extended lengths on the stockers. Like you said they’re basically worthless so who really cares if they get tore up. The OME Nitros are the limiting factor on down travel too. I know they’re designed for it so it doesn’t damage them but the stockers may be able to handle it too at lower speeds for a while.

Because this a new to me idea to try. I haven't been in the presence of my truck since September because I'm working down near Veracruz, Mexico and hoped to have the parts on order for when I get home.

We take the word of "someone on the internet" all the time when it comes to getting information on our trucks. There are probably hundreds of thousands of these shocks around so I figured someone might have the info. Collapsed/extended lengths of a shock is usually a pretty easy spec to find. I just can't seem to find it.

So I just installed my medium OME Dakar Leaf Pack.

I used double sided 30lb 3M tape and put liners in between the leafs. I purchased 8 Toyota original bushings, part number 90389a0003. Leafs are super quite.

Only issue is the U Bolts are to short using a 3 degree shim. I got OMEU53A U bolts. What length U bolts I need? What length are OMEU53B bolts?

I also need to purchase some thicker fuel line tube so I can cut and and wrap it around the rear E brake line. It is slightly touching the OME Dakar leaf.

    Update:

I removed the 3 degree shim and the take off shutter is gone. Happy for this. I did not need a shim. I actually measured the pinion angle (angle of the rear diff) and with the 3 degree shim I was way off of factory spec. Removed shim and back to factory spec.

Also the original leaf spring from Toyota had a very small shim on it. Skinny side was pointing towards the rear.

Hey guys, were the old Dakars side specific... like for passenger and driver? And these new ones are not side specific? Seems on install instructions it says to just point the arrow to the front. Nothing about side specific leafs.

If you have one with a “+” put it on the drivers side.

Is there any way to have the OME full leaf pack and only acheive 0-1” of total lift? Reason I’m asking is I really dont want to lift my truck as I enjoy it being low for ease of loading/unloading dirt bikes in the back. With 1 or 2 bikes in the back it is 100% riding on my aftermarket load supporting bump stops because the stock leaves are just so weak. I also get a vibration while decelerating from the stock leaves deflecting and knocking the pinion angle out of spec and my dealership basically said there’s nothing they can do for that.

The “0” means they are at spec. The “+or -“ is at or below spec

Probably not. Maybe check out the Ironman leafs. They are rated for 2” lift on 2005+. That should mean less on a 3rd gen. Might be worth a look for your application.

Hey guys, I noticed on my stock leafs that there are little shims. Installer put Dakars on without them. What has everyone been doing if they have the stock shims? I know some third gens have the shims and some don’t.

Has anyone taken the leafs apart and reassembled and know the torque specs for the center pin bolt? Good'n tight? Also has anyone installed shims with Dakars? I got the slotted toytec 3 degree shims and wondering if there are any special things that need to be done. I'm assuming you put the new supplied center bolt through the shim, then tighten it all back up again. Kit didn't come with instructions!
