My awesome 7 year-old pushed one of the BSM sensors in like a damn button. Still works fine but drives me crazy every time I see it. Any tips on fixing this easily? Can I just pop out the outer part to get it out?

Haha yeah between this, the fingerprints on every window and the melted crayons on the back I can definitely say she is not helping with the resale value.

That sensor is for your parking assist. The BSM one is behind bumper (cannot see it) and sends signals through the plastic.

    Good luck

Like others are saying the plastic surrounding the sensor is a separate piece. You can kind of see it in the pic attached. I just replaced mine because a minor little tap on the other side of the bumper broke my left center parking sensor.

If you end up replacing, don’t buy a new one from Toyota. They’re $20 on eBay for an older part number.

I can live with the window smears, glass isn't to hard to clean, but my damn pit's short hairs weave themselves into the seats so bad its near impossible to get out. It's like my back seat was reupholstered in brindle

I was changing my bumper and those things not to hard to push into place. They arent hard to break either.... i think u can get to it from under the bumper. If for any reason the clip holding it breaks . U can go to home depot and they have 1/2 grommet u can buy to hold sensor.

It could be a 3/8 or a 1/2 grommet to hold sensor. It works a charm and looks oem

Awesome, thanks! Yes, I destroyed the clip trying to fix it. Then tried to order a replacement on Ebay and got the wrong one. Will try Home Depot.

From everything I found, you can only order the third gen sensor as a complete part from Toyota. Everything else is a ‘hope it fits’ scenario. I broke the clip on my when I was off road and tapped my driver side down hard. BSM stopped working because it got wet (guess), and the sensors won’t hang in right.

Save the money. Get steel :)

I don't think there's a part number for the clip. This is the part number for the sensor, which includes the clip: 893410R060
I ended up ordering a generic one on eBay (this one), for $20. Comes with the sensor, but I'll stick with my OEM one, and just use the clip that comes with it. I figure then I'll have another sensor for backup if one goes out.

I actually tried this exact method. No luck, though. My kid had mashed it way up in there.
