    My 05 sold for $19,500 recently. 5 to 6k doesn't buy a decent Tacoma.

not even after a taco... An old chevy or ford would be fine. Even 2wd. The market is just stupid right now. He literally wants a beater rubber floor rusty work truck.

I bet if he was willing to look at at a standard cab manual trans he could probably get into that range. I'll probably advertise mine as a beater or hunting truck when time comes to sell for around that price. The only issue it has is the paint is faded and has 145k on the odo.

    Somewhere in the Mojave Desert...
    Vehicle:
    2017 Tacoma OR 4x4 (formerly 2002 OR 4x4, 1995 4x4 4Runner, 1985 4x4 Toy PU) ... and RIP’s (rust in pieces) to a Bronco II 4x4 & S10 Blazer 4x4
Good condition and inexpensive used Taco’s? Good luck!

But really, tell your friend to buy them from the western states, especially California. Most of the 1st and 2nd gen 4x4’s out here have only seen freeway commute miles and have no rust whatsoever.

Also in northern Ohio. Did a detail job on a 2002 Chevy 2500 with 220,000 miles. Gas, not diesel. Dealer listed for $14,500. I mocked that price...sold 2 days later.

Yes, used truck prices are terrible right now. If you can wait until spring, they will come down a bit.

I tried selling my 2004 SR5 Tacoma for $7k with a new frame and all I got were Jr needs a car sob stories will you take $2500 and this old Grand Am and a half a case of Busch beer.

I can't blame sellers for asking for beyond top fucking dollar knowing their going to get dicked down by broke dicks. The truth be told buyers are total dicks too

I've learned after the last three vehicles why people just trade stuff in. It's not worth the headache to sell vehicles. If someone came with a correct offer above $5500 I would have let it go.

It amazes me too. Last I checked my truck is worth what I paid still 3 years later and 15000 km more on the odo!

I wanted a used CPO TRD off-road. I found that new ones were cheaper. So I bought new.

I drove that Ranger around a little after I got it "ship shape" just to be sure it was relabel. I got to say it was a fun project anyhow...

Life is finite, too finite to wait around for dicks that can't be bothered to show up when they say they will, not have any money or even better have to ask the wife. I almost hate selling stuff locally these days. Despite the hype of an economy that's doing well there's a lot of broke dicks out there.

LOL, I tried actually was willing to add 5k to put my son in a Toyota or Nissan but he was dead set on the Ranger. I know what it is like to want something just because you do so I managed to find him "His" truck. Damn it if the few days I spent driving that truck to the tire store etc, after the mechanical work, wasn't the best days I have had in a while.
