I’m late to the party, but...

33’s and 5.29s are awesome. Soooo glad I didn’t go with 4.88. Unless you like to drive 80mph everywhere, don’t be scared to be over geared.

 

How are the fumes from having the exhaust exiting under the bed? Does it come back into the cab? Hows it on the trail??
Been thinking about cutting mine.

 

I’ve had great success with chains and deep snow. The chains I use are pretty beefy. The ones I use on the back are designed to be used on semi trucks with real thick links. The ones I use on the front are as beefy as I could get that still cleared the upper control arm. I use them in snow that is 2+ feet deep with a heavy crust on top. If I aired down, I would ride up on top of that crust, and go like heck. That is until I hit a soft spot, then I would drop through and be stuck bad. With the chains I cut through instead of riding on top. Cuts a nice path that I can back out on if I need to. In the conditions I encounter chains and a rear locker are great assets.

 

how was the reception? Was it a cb? Looking for a good mounting place, and thought of doing just that

Yeah I was thinking it would be a good spot for a cb right there behind my ditch lights. My lights are shit without my ditch lights in the dirt at night. Eventually Ill fix that, but for now Ill keep it how it is. Thx man.

 

I’m running my 3/8 NMO CB antenna on a ditch light mount and it’s been great. VSWR is 1.4:1 at CH1 and CH40; 1.1:1 at CH20.

When I go HAM, I’ll likely do a 3/4 NMO mount in the middle of the roof.

@BartMaster1234 , here is a picture of my antenna. The NMO mount is really nice because I can take the antenna off when I don’t need it and protect the mount with the cap you can see in the picture.

 

Don’t CBI have a Cb antenna mount?

 

As @Speedytech7 mentioned, it’s just a single ditch light bracket. You choose which side you want when you order one. The 3/8 NMO antenna mount fits the bracket hole perfectly.
