On another note I posted in the deer hunting thread also. Looking for some input on cameras. I have a couple as of now permanent pieces of hunting land. And want to set up some cameras.

I have an inexpensive Wildgame Innovations that has been outside on a tree for 2 years. It has taken over 15k pics and still works perfectly. On a side note, this past January I put lithium batteries in it and still have full bars on battery life indicator.

Bought a new Hoyt HyperForce this year. But only because ever since my 2005 Mathews LX split a limb in '13 or '14 it hasn't been right. Even with new limbs and strings I can't get it tuned. My other other back up bow, is a 2000 Mathews FeatherMax. That bow is in its 19th season. Both were (are) stone cold killing machines.

I have (2) WGI's and (1) Moultrie 990I. The WGI's take great daytime pics. Nightime pics are a little blurry. Picked up both for $49.95 each. The Moultrie has been out five years and works great. Awesome pics and video. Battery life is pretty good. Maybe 2,000 pics per set of 8 AA's. The WGI's I really don't have a baseline as I just put them out this spring. Still better than 50% battery.

Check out this site “Trailcam Pro” they field test and review several brands of cameras. They also sell cameras and if you buy from them you get a 2yr. warranty and an 8 gig card. I personally like the Browning Strike Force cameras. I have 8 of them with no issues. Browning has several to choose from ranging from $99 to $200 give or take a few bucks. The Strike Force usually run $129-$149, great performing cameras.

Went out this morning and had two little bucks and no does. Here is a little 4-pointer that came in to my grunt call. I am not sure if I am going to be able to get out this evening, but tomorrow I am. I am changing spots on the property and it should be rocking with our first morning in the 20's. I'll let you know if anything good happens!

Damn it was cold today! Wind was up to 25 mph hovering around 30° without the wind.

Nothing, even the squirrels went back to bed by 7.
I had the .22 with me specifically to get something today.
So windy, all the trees were swaying.

I saw tons of squirrels but the wind wasn’t near as bad as my house in Winchester. Can’t shoot guns though where I’m at so I just watched them. Tomorrow I should be getting deer up and moving. Hope you can make it out. Let me know how it goes!

Looks are very deceiving!!! I was shaking so bad at that point.
And had hand warmers on each hand chest pockets, thigh pockets and inside my boots.

I do want snow that's for sure though.
Hopefully will get some at thanksgiving at my folks place in Northwest CT along the NY MA border in the Berkshires. I do miss those mtns, but not the newer laws;)

It hasn’t snowed (like legit snow) in our area during hunting season since I was knee high to a grasshoppers balls! Would be awesome though!

I’m always trying to keep my backpack as small and as light as possible. I just picked up this small carry case for my broadheads to replace the case I was using.
