    My wife and I went out with some of my coworkers for trivia night (1st place!) at a local micro brewery- Rustic Road in downtown Kenosha, WI. Pretty good variety of beer for such a small operation, but there could’ve been more carbonation to the kegs...

    It's a bit polarizing it seems. It's an insanely dry hopped imperial imperial IPA. I want to say like 10-12%. I've gotten it before and it's not for me, super super sweet and tons of sweet dry hopping citrus. I'd be interested to see how it ages since it's mostly dry hopped I think.

    We went to Lawson's new brewery which was nuts. They were at max capacity, so there was a line outside waiting for people to leave. Then when you got inside there was a huge line at the bar. There was no line to buy cans, so we bought some and left.

    What do you think of The Hemperor? The kid and I sampled it at a local brew fest over the summer and we both thought it was way too dank for our tastes. No way I could down an entire pint. Seems to be pretty popular around here, though.

    Today the wife and I drove up to Asheville, NC for the third day of Highland Brewing Company’s Cold Mountain release weekend.

    Cold Mountain is a spiced ale that Highland releases around this time every year. They sell packaged Cold Mountain Thursday-Saturday of the release weekend and only allocate so much every day. This is my second year having it and it’s far and above my favorite seasonal beer, maybe my favorite beer ever.

    This is my haul. I bought the limit of every size of both the original and Imperial Cold Mountain. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
